He also has a great eye for kids who are younger and seem difficult but are displaying some type of learning disorder which doesn't manifest itself as such but more of a social behavior issue. I've known now 3 different kids who have seen him and each one is diagnosed differently and treated very differently, but all are helped. Unlike other doctor's, he knows his psychology and doesn't use the same labels everyone else does or isn't a serial ADD or BPD diagnosis doctor who sees all the same. He is really amazing in those skills. His office is a kid's dream come true with a variety of toys for all ages, including a sandbox, and he engages however the child needs. He is so personable and supportive. I don't think I've ever felt judgement in anything I've said, and I am sure I do a lot wrong as a mother, but he just coaches in a very positive way. He's is soft and sensitive with women, and first and not intimidating to guys but helps them deal with agression or suppression of such. The original psychiatrist quit, as did several in succession--the reason might be the disagreeable owner, Errol Nadler. Mr. Nadler lacks the competence to oversee a behavioral health clinic. As a result, he has been unable to staff the facility with a real psychiatrist. Instead, he employs a nurse practitioner, who is not only underqualified but also lacks the temperament and intelligence to handle the issues to which she has been assigned. My spouse was subjected to lies, misrepresentations, repeatedly incorrect diagnoses, and resentment. At one point the nurse practitioner prescribed medication, then, to make a point, rescinded the prescription so that when I arrived to pick it up, the pharmacy personnel told me that she had called to rescind the prescription. In short, I became uncertain whether my spouse should have been treating both Mr. Nadler and the nurse practitioner rather than the other way around. Eventually, as my wife's condition worsened thanks to Behavioral Health's incompetence, my spouse had to check in to the psychiatric emergency room at Kingston Hospital. In keeping with their pattern, and given my spouse's chronic anxiety, depression, and emotional instability, Mr. Nadler then took it upon himself to write her an insulting dunning letter. Clearly his concern is your money and not your mental health. I very much wonder what the "cure rate" for Behavioral Health is. My wife went there for years with no improvement. They made things worse. Stay away from this place.

As I progress, so does she; her bag of tools appears to be bottomless. I have been seeking psychiatric care since I was a young teen and have seen both psychiatrists and psychologists, and I can say with confidence that Barbara, as a Clinical Social Worker is superior by all measures in actually helping to provide the tools to navigate through daily life and relationships, and not just provide some framing diagnosis that ultimately becomes the enabling factor that allows for continued unwanted thought processes and behaviors. She has never failed to deliver! I'm not sure how she has the strength to work from the wee hours of the morning until late at night. She must have some type of super-human emotional/physical power, as I feel like she too, feels the pain of her patients. I have referred her to several friends in need of help, and all of them feel the same way about her work. It's like some secret sisterhood when one of us references 'Barbara'.
