This particular night we stopped in to get a drink really quick and they just happened to have a band playing. The wait to get a drink was pretty slow. Even the wait staff were having to wait a long time to serve patrons. Luckily, I was able to bypass the waitstaff (who I originally gave my order to) and just get my drink directly from the bartender. She was a very sweet woman named Aaliyah and she made a mean Old Fashioned, it even had the fancy square cube in it. She was such a sweetheart and I'd love to go back and order another one of these nights out.

It was just our party in the venue during that time, a combination of kids and adults. There were plenty of tables for all of the snacks we brought, including pizza, spam musubi, and cookies. My bf and I purchased drinks from the bar while there. The staff was helpful and friendly to our group the entire time. They even explained how to use the simulators, as there were lots of buttons on the floor and a variety of options for play. This included match stroke, driving range, putt putt, box crush, island hop, mushroom bump, foursome, scramble, and more. The kids had a blast playing pretty much everything, while the adults engaged in a variety of simulated golf matches and driving range. The staff guided the adults through some of the features like replay in slow-mo... guests can even connect on golfjoy.com. Also, loved the automatic golf tee that rises from the ground with the ball ready to hit. The arcade in the back offered plenty of pinball fun too, mainly newer machines. We enjoyed our time here and appreciated them accommodating our large and crazy party.

She was super friendly and I told her we were waiting for Kevin for a golf lesson but I'm way early and he wasn't there yet so I took a look around going from front to back and I must say, it's bigger than it looks. It seemed like a very relaxed atmosphere. I love all the golf reference movies and shows on the wall....so retro. They have a small rec room in the back with arcade and pinball games as well as the simulators up front. They had pretty interesting stuff going on such as golf lessons as I mentioned earlier and I saw fliers for a pinball tournament. Kev got there early too and took my son right away. They do have clubs to use should u need for the lesson. Kev started with his stance and worked his way to holding the his club the right way. It was only a 30 minute lesson but might do a whole hour next time. After his lesson was done, well, my husband was late picking us up but as we were waiting the bartender asked if we wanted water. I thought that was nice of her. I'm not sure about food as I didn't order any but will definitely be back. Thanks Fore Play.

The bar itself is extremely outdated and not well-maintained. It felt dirty and neglected throughout. There are two pool tables in the back, but they're old and in poor condition. The bartender didn't know how to make a few basic drinks, and the bar wasn't fully stocked, which was disappointing. There is plenty of parking . I'm not sure how this place has a 4-star rating -- in my opinion, it should be much lower.

Old Huants and New Cheers: An Authentic Dive with Heart in Vacaville!…read more I don't get to Vacaville very often, but when I do, I always enjoy stopping by TJ's Tavern. Stepping into TJ's Tavern feels like catching up with an old friend after years apart--familiar, comforting, and just the right amount of nostalgia. The drinks are straightforward and hit the spot, served up by solid bartenders. The music is often a mix of classics and some new surprises, which is just right. What makes TJ's truly stand out is the undeniable spirit in the place. There's a sense of resilience and growth here, like watching something meaningful continue to hold its own. On my most recent visit, I was happy to see how this place is not just holding its own but thriving. If you're passing through Vacaville and crave a spot with character, history, and a whole lot of heart, TJ's Tavern is well worth the visit. Here's to good times past, present, and those still to come. Cheers
