Had a wonderful experience with Tim as our host. Very intimate and quaint, and the wine was excellent.

It was so intimate and personable - one of the best winery tours we've had. The wines are also excellent - we were particularly stunned by the chardonnay and syrah which are wines we tend to stay away from, but Pride produced such delicious ones that we changed our minds on them! The view here is stunning, too. But I highly recommend getting a private driver since the drive up the hill is quite a hike!

Our host, Krista, was so knowledgeable, open to repeat/answer any questions, and is so good at holding conversations! I felt so enlightened and energized because of her absolute good vibes. Krista ended up showing us a variety of different wines, but the most notable wine was the very beginning. My friends and I were limited in our wine knowledge and he admitted that he felt like all wine tastes the same. However, once we took our very first sip, the fruity, buttery notes completely changed our minds. She sets the image about drinking this near a pool and I immediately would get transported to her explanations. It was giving "Remy" from "Ratatouille" moment when you close your eyes and see/feel all the different imagery. Throughout the tour, we are educated on the fact that they have two different addresses because they are at the border of both Sonoma County and Napa! Literally best of both worlds! Afterwards, we tried multiple different wines in their caves and educated on the different notes, how to hold our wine glasses, and the importance of everything. Before this experience, I was completely unaware of what to look for, but now I feel like I have a better understanding of everything. Certain notes I didn't even expect like the peppery taste in one of the wines. It was so cool knowing that these type of caves and winery exists and I feel like our host, Krista, made our experience even BETTER. Thank you Krista for showing us around. This was completely unforgettable and I WILL BE coming again!

Off the beaten path!…read more This is by far the most beautiful winery I've attended and seen thus far from all the Yelp Flight Club events teamed with CellarPass. It is a little bit hard to find and the road to this winery is long, narrow, and windy. First of all, wine tasting is by appointment only and parking is limited. The signs are not very big and obvious so you need to look carefully and follow the signs. Once you arrive at this vineyard, though, you will see why the drive was all worth it. The front of the winery displays an American flag. That should give you a hint of the theme of this family winery. The winery itself is literally a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We entered through the side and it led us to the patio. What an impressive setting with patriotic decor throughout and overlooking the vineyard and the lake. Sit and relax in the tasting room or out in the patio while enjoying sips of their Cabs and signature wines. During cold season guests can enjoy their wine by the warmth of fireplace. We sampled the Rose and Estate Cab. There is a specially designed bottle that was produced in honor of 9/11. Do ask one of the hosts, Donna or Tom, to enlighten you with the story of how it came to be. Whether you're enjoying their fine wine or a game of bocce ball on their bocce court visitors will surely find this family vineyard peaceful and inviting. Here was how I captured our Yelp Flight Club event at this beautiful winery... watch http://youtu.be/naBkF3nlYRY Review #0342

You start by checking in at the bottom of the hill. You then take the gondola up to the winery where you'll start with a white wine. We then proceeded to go on a walking tour where we were able to learn more about the long history of Sterling Vineyards. Along the way we were able to take in arguably the best views in all of the valley while enjoying wine that started from grapes that were grown in the vineyards below. We enjoyed our time in the family friendly section but there is a private and secluded section for a 21+ crowd.

On a Friday, by way of the east bay, we made our way to Sterling Vineyards. Parking is ample. Check in is at the front upon entering along with the gondola and a shared restroom with individual stalls. While checking in for our chosen experience, we received our drink rings and tasting menu. The gondola is to left of check in, where we proceeded to after using the restroom (to the left of the gondola entrance). The gondola experience was quiet, smooth and scenic. At the gondola's end is the entrance to Sterling Vineyards. You are met with breathtaking views and vintage bells that ring every 15 minutes. The current gondola is the third installation since the vineyards opening. The installation occurred following the fires in 2020 that burned majority of the vineyard and its estate. At the first tasting, you receive your glass for majority of the tour. Here is where the ring received at check in goes on the stem of your glass. The gentlemen at this station are incredibly funny and was a treat to engage with. The older gentleman sung to Ashanti's sister for her birthday along with Zach Bryan. I'll be back for the oyster event in August, told him I'd like a song for my birthday - he said he'd be there. Can't wait! Wish I got his name...you know who you are! The tasting tour is self guided. Our experience was a tasting of six with the first three wines provided while walking, the last three were provided on the terrace with our charcuterie. Diego was the absolute best. He shared a lot of himself in the experience which I welcomed, he truly personalized our experience allowing it to be more authentic than business orientated. STERLING PLEASE START TO BOTTLE AND SELL THE BLOOD ORANGE HOUSEMADE JAM...PUHLEEZZZZZZ!!!! Kudos to the new chef, hers or his ingenuity is brilliant. We did not want the jam to end. The blood orange housemade jam is a sweet citrusy, blood orange jam with heat. It is the perfect ying yang pairing for anything and everything. Seriously! I'm SO EXCITED to see what else the amazing, newest chef of Sterling Vineyards has to offer...I'm ready to indulge in your imagination on a plate. Need a volunteer tester...I'm her!!! At the end of the tour (where the first tasting began), is a set of stairs directly in front. The stairs led to the Wine Gift Shop where there were wines, candles, cutting boards, assorted glassware, travel mugs in an assortment, edible goods, candies, tasting rooms, water fountain and restrooms. Here is where I signed up for membership with Sterling. The Sterling Vineyards Membership offers four membership tiers ranging in price of $185 to $400 per release. Releases occur five times a year (Feb, Apr, Jun, Oct, Dec) and members are required to honor three of the five release dates per year to maintain membership. Each release is customizable with the exception of a purchased gift membership. Shipments can be shipped for a flat rate ($25) or picked up. Pick ups offer access to ten complimentary tastings (for up to six people) in a tasting room and/or a walking self guided tasting. Birthday, anniversary, girls trip, boys trip, just because (as we did) any reason is a great reason to come, visit, experience the landscape, staff, service, food and winery of Sterling Vineyards.

Whether you love sparkling wine, red wine, or wine in general, this is an experience you shouldn't miss. Our guide, Francesca, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. She made the tour engaging and memorable, and we're so glad we had the opportunity to experience it with her. Romeo holds a special place in our hearts because we visited them a little over seven years ago. During that experience (which you can read about in my previous review - if interested), my wife and I had a grand experience with former Business Manager Emma, who administered the delicious tastings. Fast forward to the present, we looked forward to enjoying a glass of their finest red before finding lunch. Upon entering the walkway, we were enthusiastically greeted by an employee named John who quickly ushered us to a vacant table for two. My wife had a slight reaction to the beautiful flowers that were in full bloom. Out of the kindness of his heart, John provided my wife with a bottle of Pure Leaf tea that calmed her allergies. We told John that we were interested in enjoying a glass of red, in which he quickly ran off and returned with a bottle of 2009 Eugenia Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon doing the swirl and sniff test (sounds dirty doesn't it?), I knew that we were in for a treat. Since we were both in dire need of a meal, we sadly could not continue the party. However, we will make a return visit in the near future to enjoy a full tasting experience!
