Local honey is defined as honey originating from a hive 25-50 miles from your home or with 2-8 miles from the same nectar source for optimal benefits. https://www.locallifesc.com/raw-truth-local-honey/ Save Your Bees imports honey from the Georgetown/Lexington KY area 60-70 miles from the storefront. So in this sense it is local honey in the context that the nectars and pollen are from plants similar to those found in this area. For allergy relief in particular, 50 miles is considered local for honey. Within the 50 mile range, the pollen should be very similar and would be beneficial. The term "local honey" is a bit misleading in this context which is not to say that honey from 60-70 miles away may not still have similar benefits to honey that is truly local as defined by many beekeepers and scientists. T his is just a clarification that is worth noting depending on the benefits that you may hope to gain from buying local honey. Supporting local bee keepers and sustaining the local bee population s is essential to the health of our planet. Pesticides and 5G cell service threatens to wipe out this essential component of our ecosystem so please support your local beekeepers this is simply a little more information to help the consumer to make an informed decision.

The wife loves the honey and has stop taken allergy pills daily. Upon entering, the owner was friendly and attentive, while sharing information about various things in the shop. It was not a pushy style, just passionate about local items and such. The dip mixes we bought were also good. The store is clean and quiet. We came back today because we needed more honey and well...left with more than honey. The Carolina beef jerky is really good and has a good kick to it. It's thinly sliced and has a good chew to it. The original jerky is a little sweeter than I care for, but has great flavor and chew. The cashier greeted us today and was also just as friendly as the owner, albeit less talkative. Not implying anything negative there, just a different ambiance than the first visit. We will continue to go back for honey and check out the local stuff. Large selection of various things, dip mixes, candles, honey, maple syrup, crafts, etc. check it out!
