To this day my wife and I are not sure what he actually did. And unfortunately, I was injured at the time he did the work so it was difficult for me to check what he was doing - which in hindsight I think he took advantage of. He told us the light bulbs he was putting on the ceiling fixture above the basement stairs (nearly impossible for us to replace ourselves) would last 10 years. They're already out!!! He was supposed to remove an ugly fixture in my office and replace it with a new one. He replaced the bulbs only!!! He was supposed to put up new fixtures in my garage and fix a couple of the other fixtures. He replaced bulbs in one fixture only and never put up new ones!!! To this day we have no idea what he did in the garage. He was supposed to put in a certain type of split heating cooling system designed for the square footage of my garage. When I checked the part of the one he put in, it wasn't even strong enough to cover the square footage of the garage and does nothing!!! To add insult to injury my wife caught him lingering about our yard AFTER HE WAS DONE AND LEFT! Very strange. So did he charge me less after all this. Nope. Same price. Again, I was "couch ridden" at the time and so could not check anything he was doing. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!

On the day of the appointment, I never received a confirmation or any communication that there was a problem. After waiting, I made several attempts to call and text the company but received no response. It wasn't until much later that I was told they didn't have availability and was asked if I wanted to reschedule for later that week. I understand that unexpected situations can arise and schedules can change. However, what was most disappointing was the lack of communication. My time is valuable too, and a quick call or text letting me know there was an issue would have been appreciated and would have prevented me from rearranging my day unnecessarily. Based on this experience, I did not feel confident moving forward with this company. Reliable communication is an important part of customer service, and unfortunately, that was lacking in my experience.

We bought a chandelier from Horton's and they gave us a sheet of recommended installers. Finding the right person to replace our chandelier felt a bit like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I looked up the three closest installers on Yelp and Angie's List. Rocks was my first call based on the high marks on both sites; unfortunately, they weren't taking jobs for several weeks. One of the other two got average marks with a lot of comments about their high prices. When I spoke to them, they wouldn't even entertain an estimate without sending someone out to look at the space. The last guy had no online presence at all, which gave me pause, and gave me a really low price without asking any questions. We started to think we might do the job ourselves. Fortunately, it took longer than expected for the chandelier to arrive and in the meantime Tom from Rocks reached out. He asked me about what we wanted to do, our ceiling height and for some pictures of the space and the fixture, so he could give me an estimate. He also gave us some really good advice. We considered swagging the light since the junction box was off center from our table; we're glad he dissuaded us from going this route. Moving the box was a little more, but it looks so much better this way. When Tom arrived for the job he was so friendly and didn't mind my cats checking out his every move. He worked efficiently and checked in to make sure I was happy with his work. All of the packaging was boxed up nicely, which made it easy for me to toss when he left and the house.
