They were incredibly thorough with all of their ingredients and allergens. They make everything from scratch, but I was not able to have any of the desserts since they were all made with soy flour, but they went above and beyond, helping me choose a lunch and checking ingredient information for everything. They were so incredibly kind and patient and did not make me feel like a burden at all by asking questions. I ended up going with the grilled ham cheese and tomato sandwich on ciabatta with a cheddar cheese, and they give you a few choices for sides. I went with the orange slices and I also picked up a cup of coffee - their chocolate hazelnut coffee with cream and sugar. They even came back a few minutes later because they saw I had a peanut allergy and just wanted to make sure that hazelnut was safe for me as well. They were so sweet. Every person there was really accommodating and when I first walked in, they were helping a customer choose a cake for their daughter's birthday, which seemed to be taking a while, but they were patient and kind with her as well. This is a family owned operation and they really put their heart and soul and everything. The spot itself is just tucked into a shopping center and the interior is cozy and cute. They have a wide variety of desserts and pastries, along with sandwiches, breakfast options and drinks. Everything smelled and looked amazing. I wish I had been able to try a dessert, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area that is able to eat their desserts. Their cakes looked so good. I really enjoyed my sandwich. It was so filling and had a really good flavor! The tomato just made the ham pop and the orange slices were really refreshing. I don't usually go with fruit as a side, but I think I need to start doing that more often! Their coffee was really good too. The chocolate hazelnut flavor was not overpowering, but had a nice subtle flavor. I would absolutely be back.

So, I couldn't think of a better way of celebrating than having a taco themed night for him. This included having a taco cake. So I reached out, and Andrea was very quick to respond. The cake was beautifully done and she even added details like edible hot sauce packets with Justin's name on it. (They look exactly like Taco Bell hot sauce). She even used paper from there. I especially enjoyed the Frank roll and the crab dip bagel because the Frank roll's onion jam has a perfect sweetness to it and its croissant bun is beautifully crafted and aesthetically pleasing. After some initial product shortages at the store, I spoke to the store manager, explained 'you're selling out at full price - you need to stock more of this.' Since not many items sell out at full price, the reasoning was obvious, and the manmger addressed the stocking situation. Since then, I've periodically looked at Schmidt's facebook page, and occasionally commented on a post. After Schmidt's introduced bagels to their lineup, I tried them and liked them, but with only plain bagels, found them lacking the variety of flavors I'm used to as a NY bagel lover. So I asked for more flavors. THEY LISTENED! Aside from plain, when I went to Shoprite today, I found Cinnamon Raisin bagels, and Everything Bagels. Both are very good. I realize there are limits to how much of a flavor burst they can put into a high fiber bagel, but they've got flavor, and the flavor's good. They listened. It's my birthday later this month. This was the best present I've gotten in a long time. Thank you.
