When we got there, the Line was out the door, but people were saying it's worth it. Country House deli has lots of sandwiches to choose from. We asked some people in line what their favorite sandwich was. I went with the grinder on sourdough and I was not disappointed. This sandwich was delicious the deli meats, the sauces, the bread, all super fresh . It looks like they rotate their soups and if the wild rice soup would've been available I totally would've ordered that because that is not something I can get anywhere outside of North Dakota. The staff are friendly, and the line moves pretty quick. The food comes out relatively fast. I loved my sandwich from here and I wish it was closer because I would probably get sandwiches all the time. We were the table that was cracking up in the back and stayed there until you closed. (I believe he called it a quesito but I could be wrong.) The owner also stressed that the desserts in the case change in variety daily so what may be there one day won't be there the next. All in all - this business is fantastic in every way (right down to the fact that the room was absolutely spotless and sparkling clean) and we will be back next time we are in Bismarck! They also sell loaves of bread and other baked goods to take home. The staff was warm and polite, and even those working behind the counter who weren't serving us took a moment to say thanks for coming in. Will definitely be visiting again.

For entrées, our table had the breaded walleye, the Bolognese pasta, and the Porchetta. The walleye and Bolognese were outstanding, but unfortunately the Porchetta was a big letdown. The skin was chewy rather than crisp, with a thick layer of unrendered fat beneath it, and most concerning, it still had visible pig hair. I was expecting the classic combination of crackling skin, melting fat, and tender pork, but instead it was oddly undercooked on the outside, dry inside, and after biting into hair, I really lost my appetite for it. We finished with tiramisu and a torte, and both desserts were excellent -- a strong way to end the meal. No employee should have to come to work wondering if they're going to be treated with disrespect by their own manager. For a company as large as Panera Bread, it's shocking that management behavior like this is allowed to continue. Corporate needs to take a serious look at the people they place in leadership positions. A manager's job is to lead, support, and encourage employees--not intimidate them or create a toxic workplace. This issue needs to be addressed immediately because no one deserves to work under a boss who makes the workplace miserable. Employees deserve respect, professionalism, and a healthy work environment. I sincerely hope Panera Bread takes complaints like this seriously and holds its managers accountable.
