There are so many great museums, restaurants and nighttime activities near this hotel so I was occupied all day for the 3 days I was there. Not to mention Central Park is so close and you wander through there for hours.

We stayed in the studio apartment on the second floor and it was just perfect-charming, clean, bright, amazing bed, great location, and a very friendly and helpful host. The stairs going up are a bit steep but after the first climb you get used to it! Everything you need is provided-TV, free wifi, small bathroom and kitchen area, wardrobe, table, etc. Monique also supplies several Amsterdam guide books and suggestions of her favorite places to visit in the area and beyond. This location is walking distance to all the main sites in Amsterdam and the 1, 2, and 5 trams stop right around the corner, it doesn't get much easier. Oh, and did I mention the bed? Yes...I did...but I'm going to mention it again. It is a Tempurpedic and it is possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on-and my fiancé with back issues agrees! That's not the hotels fault. Just general information for travelers. The great thing is that the hotel is just a mere 4 or 5 blocks to the city center, a gazillion restaurants, shops etc. The stairs to the main floor entrance are SUPER steep (which the photo on YELP only partially reflects) and rather scary but we survived getting our luggage up and down. It's a historical building so they can't add a lift. That may make it difficult for elderly or handicapped people. The hotel staff was incredibly hospitable and friendly and they bring you a decent continental breakfast of bread, cheese, meat and instant coffee every morning at 8am. Sometimes earlier. The room was really pretty and had a very nice balcony, but the walls are paper thin and we could hear every single noise throughout the night. The beds were nice, but when you can hear conversations in the hallway and the next room it makes it very hard to sleep. earplugs do not suffice so you have to be one of those people that sleeps heavily or drinks them-self into a stupor - in order to get a decent amount of sleep. Of course, I don't think most people visit a party city like Amsterdam to sleep. I didn't care for the bathroom/shower setup. Literally, you have a toilet and sink; with a shower head across from the toilet on the wall. No shower curtain, therefore you get the entire bathroom wet each time you shower.

It's a lodging space that doubles as a hostel and hotel. You can either book a dorm or your own room. With my best friend, we had a standard double room with two (2) beds and our own bathroom. The window in the room was huge offering plenty of natural light. There was also a long, thin radiator underneath the window that kept our room toasty while we were out exploring the city. It was clean & spacious with a desk, a closet, two (2) nightstands both with their own lamp, fresh towels, a blow dryer with a heat concentrator, and body wash. . Aside from having an amazing room, the hotel has a ton of amenities. Via offers a buffet style breakfast for €12.50 daily (or €11.25 if booked in advance), in the lobby and at the bar, they offer mint water, they have a cinema room where you can do yoga everyday at 9am (the staff let us choose a YouTube video to follow along), there's a restaurant with a full bar inside the hotel called The Dude which is where breakfast is served; they also serve lunch and dinner. On the lower level, you'll find parking, there's a laundry room where each wash comes with free detergent, also lockers and a communal kitchen. . Lastly, our stay wouldn't have been as great as it was without the wonderful employees. Marika greeted us and helped us extend our stay. Peppin and Speters came to the rescue with ginger tea and a bucket when my friend was sick from possible food poisoning. Nicole rocked the house with karaoke night (they give free shots for every song you sing) and the gentleman behind the bar with the blonde bob (I didn't get his name) was always kind and helpful! The space was always maintained and everyone was professional. . As for location, the hotel is a 5-7 min walk from the Diemen Zuid train station and a half hour commute from Amsterdam Centraal. Train tickets are €3.40 cents one way and most people speak English. We took the train and tram everywhere. Within the Diemen neighborhood were some great spots to eat Mama's Pot was a 15 min walk offering Nigerian cuisine and fútbol watch nights, all within the same plaza and about a 6 min walk from the hotel lives Bagels & Beans. A vibrant bagel shop with grand and creative sandwiches, we had the cutest miniature sushi at Lil Tokyo and got snacks at Spar. . I highly recommend Via to anyone looking for a cool place to stay that is safe, clean, fun and budget friendly! We'll be back!

It was hands down the cleanest, cutest, and the staff was amazing. Honestly I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I stayed with a group of 7 people and we all bunked an entire room together. The room was so spacious! The bathroom was so big! The short DEFINITELY needed to be bigger but I can't complain. They have a movie room, so many areas to just lay back and relax. Breakfast was delicious! You could basically stay here the entire time and enjoy yourself if you really wanted to! Thank you Via Amstedam; when I come back I'll be staying with you guys again! Mauro Mansion is a small oasis in De Wallen. Even though the stairs are slightly steep they are easily managed. Our room 32 was very comfortable and quiet at night. The bathroom was very nice with a deep tub. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Central Station. Also within walking distance to most museums. If you looking for a lovely place to stay in the red light district this is the place.

It's located really close to Amsterdam Centraal (about a 5 minute walk), so it's really easy to get to/from here. It's also located close to the shops, Red Light District, etc. It took us like 10-15 minutes to walk there. To get to Rijksmuseum and Heineken Experience, it's about a 25 minute walk. And to get to Anne Frank House, it's about a 10 minute walk. The location is great! We had booked our reservation together but reserved two beds in a 10-bed female suite. The stairs to get to our room are quite steep and there isn't an elevator. When we first walked in, we were surprised at how large the room was. The beds weren't bunk beds but rather separate twin beds. There was a cute table and chair by the balcony. There's one bathroom with shower towards the entrance to the room and a small kitchen (though the stove doesn't work). As we were getting unpacked, we realized we only got one set of keys, so I went downstairs to put a deposit down for a second set for the door and locker. I was then told that since we had booked together, we only get one locker... which is BS since we paid for 2 beds and their website/Hostel World says it comes with lockers. So I ended up getting a set of keys just for the front door. We ended up sharing a locker, which is pretty small btw. You can't fit a backpacking backpack in it. When I got back upstairs, I counted the beds and lockers. There were 13 girls/beds in the room and 10 lockers. I guess they ended up fitting more girls in... So the hostel itself was fine, provided that they stick to the "limit" of the room of what they advertise. Otherwise, you might be fighting for locker space if you need that.
