Starting with his office help, this office is my favorite of all medical offices I've had to deal with ever. They are quick to discern your problem and quick to solve it. As for Dr. Schierman, he's one of the rare doctors who has charisma so huge you'll want him to be your Dad, Brother, or Grandpa and take you home with him. The paperwork required for getting involved with entities like Hospice, Respite Care, Senior Living places, or Child Care are a nuisance this office deals with quickly and without a hitch. Dr. Michael Scierman has been my family doctor for about 10 years!. He is amazing. I tried out about 9 doctors before discoverying .Dr. Schierman. I cant recommend him more.. he is very caring as well you never have to wait long to see him. If you have a 3pm appt he will see you at 3pm no waiting for hours!! Today was my first visit into the Dr since joining Anthem in Jan2012...so needless to say, I'm in pretty good health! I had this tiny rash/patch on my back that has been bothering me a while, so I finally had enough and decided to get it checked out. I called this past Monday to make an appointment with Dr Lamb as she is my PCP in my John Muir Network/HMO. I was disappointed to be informed she wasn't taking "new patients," which makes little to no sense since my Anthem BC HMO card tells me she is my PCP. WTF. Ok fine I will see Dr. Schierman...the upside to seeing him was I'd get in sooner, yay. So I arrived at 9am for my 910am appointment per the instructions of the receptionist to fill out paperwork. I still wasn't seen by the doctor until 9:25a. It is so extremely frustrating to be one of the first appointments of the day and still be seen late. I want to understand what's so effing difficult about keeping a schedule!? grrr...maybe THIS is why I rarely go into the dr's office: I am super impatient! Anyway, the dr finally sees me and he is like, the nicest guy. Super welcoming and nice, I instantly forgave the tardiness (sorta.) Anyway, I gave him my background on the problem and we got to work diagnosing my issue. It appears to be eczema of some sort and gave me an RX. he expects it should clear up in 1-2 weeks (phew!) Overall enjoyable first time experience and I would definitely recommend becoming a patient here. Just have patience on the ready when they're late...dah! read more

My family and I have moved about 18 months ago from the NYC, we wouldn't have survived all the trial and tribulations of moving cross country without Dr. Schierman and his wonderful staff! Dr.Schiermann has been my Primary doctor for 12 years. I can only say wonderful things about my experiences with him and his staff. The office is pleasant, the staff is professional, and Dr. Schiermann is always warm, friendly and attentive. He is open minded, he listens, he is easy to talk to and always puts me at ease. He takes time to answer questions and is sure I feel good with the information he gives me. Scheduling is a peace of cake, I never wait to be seen in reception. Dr. Schierman has been our Family Practitioner about ten years. He has always seems to be concerned with my well being and really takes the time to listen and understand your concerns. He always seems to be in a pleasant mood and is quick to act on any issues you may have. His staff, and the other doctors in his practice, are also very good health professionals. His office does well, keeping on schedule with their patients appointments, I never have to wait long in the reception area. Dr. Schierman will not rush you through your appointment, making sure he has addressed your issues and has been completely at your service. He is a "let's try this" type of doctor, instead of a "wait and see" type of physician. He will explain what is going on, then discuss options with you. His mannerisms makes you feel like a person, not a number. A nice guy and a very good caring doctor. I would recommend him. read more

Dr. Scheirman is always a joy and is very attentive to my needs. His office is very easy to get to and is in a great location in Blackhawk plaza. He has helped me from anything to do with womanhood to acne to helping me with injuries from a car accident. I'm not sure if he is accepting new patients, but if he is, I HIGHLY recommend him as a primary care physician. read more

Excellent doctor. Takes his time and asks great questions. Not only gives you the impression that he cares, I think he really does.

Dr. Schierman is a very good doctor, I am writing about his staff here. When I went to the Dr.'s office and was waiting in the waiting room, and the front desk front desk lady slams the phone back in the charging station and uses the f-word and then complains loudly about the patient that the person just had on the phone. It seemed that the patient was difficult to deal with, but regardless, it is not okay to react in such an unprofessional manner, especially with patients sitting in the waiting room and hearing the people that are supposed to help you talk about their patients this badly! My father was a surgeon so I am very critical of doctors in general. Dr Schierman has been my family doctor for over 14 years and I love him. He has seen me thru the circle of life: babies, divorce, loss of job, death, depression, and happiness. He is very loving and takes the time to listen (a rare quality when you have HMO). I have only been to Dr. Schierman once, but the first thing you see when you go to their office is a letter on the door to pharmaceutical reps advising them to make an appointment or come back another day so they can focus on their patients. Sold. (as an aside--I visited another practice, and during my 20 minute wait, 4 Rx reps visited, and the PA wanted to send me home with 5 different prescriptions because she couldn't fully diagnose my cough/cold problem. Not sure about you, but I don't want to be a medical guinea pig.) Dr. Schierman on the other hand, saw me right away, was very kind and focused, ordered a chest xray and put me on one medication that helped. The staff were also very friendly. We plan to make him our new family doctor! read more

This not isolated to one incident since my case with Dr. Schierman went on for over a year. Basically I have a skin issue and he had no idea of the cause which is okay if a Doctor is willing to take the time to help his patient figure it out. In my case Dr. Schierman try a few things that did not work so he then referred me to a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist had no idea what the cause is so he treated the symptom and not the problem. Sometime later I went back to Schierman to follow up and may have had some information that would in my opinion lead anyone who cares enough to look into it further, help investigate or even just spend a little time listening to what the Patient has to say. Instead Schierman said "you know I really haven't seen you in a while and this an issue for the Dermatologist." I tried explaining a little further and soon realized it didn't matter what I said because he had no clue what the problem was so he was just going to keep deferring to other Doctor. Wouldn't it also make some sense that since I'm Schiermans patient that he would have at least contacted the Dermatologist to follow up? That would be a sign of good Doctor who provides good service. Another thing I don't like is that during appointments with the rest of my family he's constantly checking his laptop for advice and answers to questions I would think he's already know. Constantly going to the medical software on the laptop doesn't exactly build a lot of confidence. Lastly the office staff and the wait to actually be seen is horrible. The staff are rude as can be and in all honesty we never go into an appointment without at least a half your to an hour or more wait. One time I was going on vacation and I was having some stomach trouble and asked to be seen before I got on a plane the next day and couldn't get an appointment, they referred me to urgent care. I don't know about the rest of you but if I'm in the customer service business and I have a Client with an issue I'll make the time to fit them in when they really need it. Stay away from this office if you want to avoid some frustration unless I'm just being unreasonable. read more
