What a great store! Me and my family came here because my brother wanted a Lego mystery box. We ended up walking around the store and shopping after we got his mystery boxes. This store was great! They had a great selection of pretty much every item for good value. Last year, I got some running shoes for a very good deal. They ended up being great running shoes too! The service here was really good. All of the employees here were very nice and helpful. The inside was very clean. It was also pretty cool. There was a fish tank and a Ferris Wheel. Scheels is such a cool place to have in Tulsa! I finally got to visit, and wow was I impressed. It's huge! Tons of merchandise in literally any sport, outdoor category you could ever want. Plus toys and candy and snacks and clothes and shoes and everything! Pricing was on par for this kind of store, and I did see a lot of clearance tags! I even found a jacket on sale that I really wanted, but not my size. I kept seeing signs saying they price match, so I'll have to check out more about that! I upped it to a full 5 star review because I was so shocked and surprised about their amazing customer service. My husband had bought some Hoka's and only had them for a short time before the soles were falling apart. Typically stores won't allow returns if you've worn the shoes, which he had but you could tell they were faulty. They looked perfect and like they were just out of the box until you turned them over. Pieces of the sole were falling off. No questions asked they allowed him to return them, we did have our receipt of course. They refunded via gift card which is great. Hubby and I finally visited to see what the fuss is about. Jam packed full of stuff from clothes, toys, exercise equipment, ammo, camo, golf stuff, camping equipment and accessories, kitchen stuff, sofas and a little bit of decor....wall to wall displays with a full size ferris wheel in the middle of the store. And a candy shop. And a few photo ops set up. The entire bottom floor looked to be only clothing (we looked over the railing but didn't go down there - I just remembered someone told me there is a restaurant, guess we should have gone downstairs lol). It's like if Bass Pro and Dick's Sporting Goods had a baby. Not a new concept but I can see why people like it, if that's their kind of store. I will say the signage in this store is horrible. We were looking for the bathroom right after entering from the top level of the mall, and assumed we would see a directional marker eventually. I went in shopping for something specific and they answered all my questions for about 40 minutes went over everything with me, answered all my questions and actually trained me in some things...by the end I was very comfortable with my product and bought it with confidence. My golfing buddy and I came in with the intention of purchasing new clubs and asked to use the simulator to confirm our choices. Once you've passed thru the arches, you'll come face-to-face with a super-cool, lighted ferris wheel that towers to the second floor! The store is expansive, but well-planned and easy to get around with an elevator and stairs. My jaw dropped when I walked into Scheels on their grand opening day. The store is so large it is literally like a mall inside the mall. I mean really, who puts a Ferris wheel inside their store that is two stories large? My head was swimming as I walked around and I could barely take it all in. There is so much variety of merchandise and the quality of merchandise is amazing. You'll find many high-end brands here alongside other great quality brands that you see in many places. I was really happy to see outerwear from Kuhl, Arc'teryx, and some other high-end brands that I was not even familiar with. I was also happy to see a nice little restaurant inside the store that had a great menu. The pizzas looked quite good although I did not order one this time around. Instead I ordered a club sandwich that was reasonably priced and quite good. They also sell Fudge and other goodies. This store is a destination for sure. Honestly, the fact that it was a zoo(granted it was opening weekend to the general public) was not a good start. You walk in and you see the register and the Stanley Cups, and stuff they stuck there on your way in, is for me not a good start. The fact when you pass the diner/cafe, whatever you want to call it and smell burning coffee, is an instant turn off in spades. The fact there is no type of guidance to any section and are not clearly labeled does not help either. The least you could provide, is a store map with sections noted. The store looks like a hot mess and that an amusement park was eaten by a retail space. With such limited spacing to work with, you would think you could at least put an AI guide app together, that could help people, instead of an app for just your store card. The value is near par for the course, if not higher, and in this economy that is nuts if you can go to Walmart or else where to get it for a 1/4 or 1/2 the price.While going from the 2nd to the first floor, there was a man telling his party, he was not impressed, and that he would stay with going to bass pro. I have to agree. I hope and pray that this does not turn into a way, parents drop off their kids to do what they want, and you guys become "babysitters". Scheels is always a joy to visit and when we see one it's almost like a magnet that draws us in. The stores are always clean, well kept, well stocked, and the staff is plenty helpful. This one went in the place of the old Sears store that was at Woodland Hills Mall. This is the first one we have been to that isn't a stand alone store. Lincoln, NE, Omaha, NE, Plano, TX, and now this one in Tulsa, OK. This one is a bit smaller than all of the others. They tore down the old Sears to make accommodations for this Schools, needed updating and a taller roof with an open center to make room for the ferris wheel that we've seen in every store. It's a destination sporting goods store, much like Bass Pro and Cabelas, but with less pomp and circmstance that comes with a Bass Pro. Schools also doesn't cater solely to their own branding, they carry a wide variety of brands, and they are brands that are good for the adventure at hand. Patagonia, Kuhl, Cotopaxi, Columbia, Nike, Rebook, North Face, and so many others. They don't cater to one sport, it's two stories of hunting, fishing, golfing, cycling, yoga, football, baseball, climbing, hiking, camping, boarding, water sports, and the list goes on. Prices are what you'd expect for these higher end adventure brands, however they do often have clearance racks that are a good source for finding good prices on this nice brands. This is where we tend to go to first. We really like Cotopaxi and Kuhl for our hiking, riding, and climbing adventures. Usually both of the brands have limited representation, tho this one had a large section in both mens and women's areas. Very happy to see that. When looking for the entrance from the exterior, there is only one, which surprises me. The 71st street side has no entrance, neither does the Memorial street side, you will need to drive to the north side near Dillards to enter from the outside, but best of luck finding parking. If you are handicapped, your luck is very limited, as there is roughly 6 or 8 spots near the entrance of the store, in a parking lot that is packed for a store that demands a lot of parking area. All of the stand alone stores have a LOT of handicap parking, this mall evidently doesn't have that requirement. We had to park at a distant entrance and go through the mall to gain access to the store. Scheels is a great store. Large on scale and full of good items. Very much recommended. read more

I recently purchased a new Bergera .300 WIN MAG rifle and vortex scope. The techs in the Scheels gun department mounted the base, scope and bore sighted the new rifle. My first trip to the gun range and the rifle wasn't even on paper, 18" above the paper. Took the gun back and found that they didn't mount the scope properly or bore sight the rifle accurately the first time. Went back to the gun range to break in the rifle and start to sight in the scope. The gun was all over the place within a six inch circle. Started troubleshooting what was going on and just so happened to tap my scope and heard a click. Found the scope base that Scheels installed for me was loose and never torqued. It was moving back and forth freely. It's my own fault for trusting someone else's workmanship and should've done the work myself. I will never recommend allowing Scheels gun department to work on anyones gun and would suggest that they get some basic training for their employees read more
