Dan really took his time and answered a lot of questions, showed me certain merchandise that I needed and really made sure I received the help I needed. Betsy was super supportive and kind. I had never been in to Sports World before, so I decided to stop in today. It is an amazing store with a ton of guns, ammunition, knives, accessories, and it even has a small cafe where you can have a cup of coffee while you're waiting on paperwork to come back for a gun purchase. The staff was very helpful and showed me exactly what I was looking for. There were a lot of customers while I was there, but they had plenty of staff on duty to accommodate everyone. I checked out a lot of their guns on sale while I was browsing, and their prices seem very reasonable compared to other places in Tulsa. Great, great, great place to go to for your shooting needs. People are always courteous and patient (for when your eyes and your wallet are at odds) while you drool over their hardware. Staff are very knowledgeable and can readily answer just about any question you can throw at them. Add to that a HUGE assortment of firearms and accessories, and you're pretty much set. I've been shopping Sports World since before they moved to this location. I bought a Savage in .308 over a dozen years ago and I'm still in love with this weapon, it's a real tack drive. Since my first purchase of that Savage I have bought three gun safes from them and so many guns that they are full. Leaving me in a position of needing a fourth safe for my overflow. I think that so many purchases over the years speaks volumes about their family, staff, selection, prices and kindness. Bad experience! I Stopped into the store awhile back to look at a pistol. I was followed around the store and watched by a guy the whole time I was there. He wasn't asking if he could help me with anything or even communicating with me at all. He literally stayed in my vicinity watching me the entire time I was in the store as if he thought I came in trying to steal something. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I won't be going back in there. The reason it isn't 1 star is for the fact they do have a large selection and the lady behind the counter that showed me a few pistols was very helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Food in the back gets 5 stars!!! Good, fast service. Awesome soup of the day options. Store has good selection and pricing. Only issue was that they would not let me purchase a shotgun with an out of state ID. I just moved to OK and had not gotten a new license, but did have proof of my current address. Even though the lady behind the counter admitted it would have been a legal transaction under the Brady Law, she refused to do it without me getting an Oklahoma ID. (My out of state ID was still valid.) Fortunately for them, the price was low enough that it was worth the trouble of getting a new license. (About $200 cheaper than Bass Pro.). Great store to browse or buy from. I am only giving 4 stars since a manager refused a legal transaction due to her personal preference for an Oklahoma ID. Call ahead if you want to purchase and are new to OK or visiting from out of state. read more

I have received nothing less than great service every time I visit, most recently when I purchased a Nikon scope for my rifle. I have been buying rifles and pistols from this family owned business for about two years now and I have to say they have very competitive prices (even during the ammo crunch) and the staff I've dealt with (Chris) has always been extremely helpful and fun to work with. I have only had a weapon repaired once with them and much to my surprise I had the rifle back the week after I dropped it off with them - something I'm definitely not used to when dealing with other armorers. I had the same experience as a previous reviewer. It took 20 min. to finally get someone because they kept walking by me even when I tried to get their attention. They blew me off when asking questions on models of rifles I was interested in getting and 3 different service people had the same crappy attitude towards me. I generally think I'm nice and patient so I stuck through all them to finally talk to I guess the store owner and he just shot down every question I had even when he didn't know the answer. This company is supposed to be a repair facility for Escort / Optima Shotguns Turkish made firearms. They have no idea what customer service is or how to accomplish it. I sent my shotgun in late June for warranty repair and still have not gotten it back. They and Legacy Sports in Reno, NV all blame the parent company Hatsan in Turkey; saying that the parts are late getting shipped, then they have to clear customs, etc. None of these 3 parties has ever initiated contact with me to let me know what is going on with my shotgun and almost all of my emails and phone calls go unanswered. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with these companies if I EVER get my shotgun back. If I don't, off to court we go!! read more

I stopped in here to purchase a firearm. I was told my Oklahoma State issued ID was insufficient to purchase a firearm. They said "In Oklahoma the ATF recently changed their rules where you must possess a Driver's License to buy a firearm". After my telling the three employees huddled before me that I have purchased four firearms at three different establishments in the past two weeks with my Oklahoma I'd the head clerk tells me "No", as if I am lying, and "they are not following the law". I asked them to call the ATF and ask them and they refused saying "Anyone can get one of these", implying I am attempting to defraud them I suppose. After this shocking embarrassment I told them nevermind and left. I immediately went to Gander Mountain and purchased the same firearm with a 10% discount after telling them of my embarrassing earlier experience. Thank you Gander Mountain! The following day I posted this story to the "Sports World" Facebook page with links to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations firearm guidelines. They did not respond but deleted the entire post. I would not recommend buying anything here. Although they have a large selection of firearms they are not aware of basic firearm laws, which is surprising. I will not be returning and will retell my embarrassing experience to whoever will listen. read more
