This store is QUALITY from the products offered to the great customer service. The store is small and pretty narrow, but they really maximize the space to fit in all of their products. The products mostly seemed to focus on dogs and cats, but they may have had products for other pets as well- I wasn't looking. The dog food I was checking out was all very high quality brands, including pre-made food for a raw diet. They have an assortment of toys, leashes, and other pet essentials as well. I love knowing that there is a place "back home" that carries my dog's food in case any travel emergencies come up. I was really impressed by the man who was working. He was very kind and he was super knowledgeable about the various products in the store. My mother is close to having to make a difficult decision for one of her senior dogs and he was very patient and kind with her. He not only helped her talk through some of the difficult subject, but offered her resources as well. It was a few minutes after closing time on Christmas Eve before we left, but he never appeared bothered by the time or showed any urgency to get us out of the shop. They seem to have a great store rewards program, although I didn't inquire too much about it since I am not local. A portion of their proceeds go directly back to the animals through Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends. I'm so glad that the pups from my childhood have such a great local shop & that my mom goes out of her way to support such a great local business! I would definitely make AARF my "go-to" store if I still lived in the area!

I canceled my engagements for the mornings, which was fine, but this should be shared when the appointment is made. I asked what was included in the mini groom which is the service I booked. (No real cutting.. just a bath, teeth cleaned, trim of the feet pads and sanitary areas) I was then asked if I wanted to pay an extra $8 to have my pups feet trimmed up when the BOTTOM of her feet were trimmed. I declined the service. When I went back 4.5 hours later to pick my pup up I was informed that while she was trimming the bottom of her feet she went ahead and trimmed her whole foot up and that she wouldn't charge me extra. She explained that "as a groomer it looks very unkept so I trimmed them up". I told her that I don't trim my dog that she was bought as a shaggy dog. She could tell I was very angry!! I had declined the service yet she did it anyway. She told me there would be no charge and she was sorry. I spoke to my dog so I could pick her up and at that time the lady proceeded to the back and SLAMMED the back area door. She slammed the door as if I did something wrong! She took it upon herself to make a decision that was not hers to make after I clearly told her no! Now it will be months before her hair grows out and she is a photo shoot puppy so I am screwed. To top it off the cut on the feet is horrible (see picture) and she shaved my girls butt bald! She didn't just trim it! Its just horrible! Picture of normal feet and 2 pics of chop job!

I have a small short haired Chihuahua mix so calming is not needed... Just a nail trims. I take my fair baby on Thursdays and bring the staff treats and appreciation of their service and time. I stopped patronizing this business several months ago when my calls went unanswered and not returned. I need it pricing on another service I was seeking for my dog. Several days later I received a message that they were having phone issues. I also out of the blue received an email giving me an appointment in a couple of hours the same morning they called.(?) This was so strange and unlike them. I could not make it due to a pre-scheduled event. After this little fiasco, I decided to drop them all together. Here, I am now at least six months down the road. I decide to give him another try assuming that there were no more free nail trims and I was OK with that. I asked how much they would charge for a travel from my Chihuahua mix. The young lady told me it would be $27!!! I couldn't believe it because preciously it was only $5.00 if you missed free trimmings on Thursdays. Then I learned from the young lady that this business now has new owners and staff... New business model with steep pricing increases. I don't mind paying for good service. However, this place seems to be in constant change/modification mode. No stability and now the prices. Several of my neighbors used to patronize this place until all the add-ons to the basic price tripled the initial cost according to one of my neighbors.smh I will not be back and do not recommend this business.

i have been taking my dog to furbusters for over a year, but my most recent experience was…read moreextremely disappointing and unacceptable. during a previous visit my dog was nicked. during most recent visit, my dog sustained lacerations to the top and bottom of his ear. furbusters informed me that my dog could no longer return because his hair was falling off his body and he was a wiggle worm. however, that was not the issue when i took him to the veterinarian. i took benny to stone mountain animal hospital, where the vet identified lacerations consistent with injuries from a sharp instrument, such as grooming trimmers, scisors or shears. one injury required stitches. benny was prescribed pain medication, antibiotics and a topical ointment. although furbusters waived the $80 dollar grooming fee, they refused to pay the $350 dollar vet bill resulting from this incident. this is not how a professional business should conduct itself. if benny's condition was serious enough to deny him furture service, that concern should have been communicated when i dropped him off, not after i was told he was ready for pick up. furthermore, benny did not even smell as though he had been bathed. to be told not to take this situation pesonally when my dog left there injured is unaccpetable. this is personal. benny is my responsibility, and i have every right to expect his safety and well-being to be taken seriously. i deserve accountabitly for what happened to my dog, and i expect accountablity and better care for future pets.

I am a Master groomer but unfortunately I live to far to accommodate her so I was on the phone to make sure she got what she wanted. My sister picked up her dog 4 hrs later ( which is crazy for a small dog) but if he had looked half decent it wouldn't have been a problem. Second he looked like he was in the kennel for 3 1/2 hours and taken out 30 min before it was time to go and no finished work was done. Third they cut him shorter without calling or letting my sister know in advance . Fourth , he didn't receive a bandana or smelled like he had spent 4 hours to get beautified . Then the assistant manager that I spoke with later said that if she paid more she could've gotten a master groomer.. like what? So the most basic clip in grooming history requires a master groomer for him to look decent?!!! I'm sorry but I'm tired of groomers charging and giving half ass results. He did not get a show groomed or hand scissor where I could see where it would require more experience. He got a basic clip. The explanation of why made even less sense. The groomer should have greeted the new client and did an assessment before my sister left on what she could and could not do. That's standard practice here anyway. This was a great disappointment. Train your groomers to hold higher standards in their work and maybe have the "Master" groomers do a once over their work instead of sending them out the door looking crazy.
