These people could not be nicer. It's never been more of a pleasure to give someone my money…read more For real, though. I was worried about my last minute planning with the whole Mother's Day bouquet. I was distracted by an unplanned work trip and ended up calling the Friday before. My usual florist turned me down. I started sweating. I felt like a bad daughter. I mean, I sent a card, but no one cares about those. Like, thanks for life, mom, here's a card? Momo deserves more than a card and we don't live in the same state, so I can't take her to brunch or surprise her with some random mother-daughter activity, which is my favorite thing to do. I was determined to call every florist on Yelp, but thankfully, I only had to make one more call. The woman on the phone was sweet as honey. I don't even remember who my old florist was, cause I'm never calling them again. Thank you for saving me, Florabella. You just made my weekend.

For the longest time, I relied on Florabella to provide me with creative arrangements made from what were often unusual and difficult-to-find flowers. The business was well-organized and kept its schedule reliably, attractive traits to a nerd such as myself, and it sold its creations at a reasonable price. I could drop off a vase at the shop, conveniently located in Bay Ho, and, a few days later, either pick up my flowers or have them delivered to my house. However, by fall of 2019, owners Sarah Newstead and Jennifer Bull were gone, and the shop had moved from San Diego to Coronado Island, a virtual world away from the one I inhabit. Prices had risen, phone calls were no longer promptly returned, and the whole enterprise began to feel desperate and amateurish, like Mom had left the kids in charge, and maybe they were in a little over their heads. So I've stopped using Florabella, because, in the immortal words of Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins, "Ain't nobody got time for that." I grant that some of my hesitation may stem from an age-related aversion to change, and that your experience with the "new" Florabella may differ from mine, but, nevertheless, buyer beware and all that...

I've been patronizing their business for years and can say with confidence that they can pull off an impressive range of flower arrangements and bouquets for every occasion. Weddings? Check. Funerals? Check. Trying to impress on a date? Check. Got a goth girlfriend who likes black roses? Check. Buying flowers for yourself to brighten your space? Check. If flowers can solve the problem, Flowers For You can deliver. The shop is small, but mighty. They have an impressive selection at a wide range of price points. You can buy beautiful, extravagant bouquets at higher price points or select your own flowers by the stem and the staff will construct and wrap a custom bouquet with your selections. They are very popular on floral-centric holidays such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day with lines wrapping around the block. I've witnessed the staff crank out gorgeous arrangements with completely different aesthetics one after another with the understanding that they had been going for hours. That's why I decided to approach them about my wedding arrangements last spring. Since their staff has a wide range of talents, I figured that they would be the right florists to trust with my desired aesthetic. I have to admit that I felt like an absolute mess of a bride- I had no idea what I wanted, no real wedding colors selected, and felt so overwhelmed by the planning stage. I had a vibe in mind and no idea how to accomplish it: I wanted to feel like a springtime desert fairy princess, with vibrant golds and oranges- something soft, but edgy. The staff at Flowers For You were patient and helpful throughout my consultation, even showing me examples of the stock they have access to from wholesalers so I could point out the exact colors and textures I was looking for. The end result was stunning and everything I had dreamed about and so much more. Not only did they understand the assignment, they almost seemed to read my mind and completely exceeded my expectations. Plus, they gave me advice about how to care for my pieces after the wedding and how to dry my bouquet and preserve it. All in all, I'm eternally impressed with the beauty and quality that comes out of this shop and I can't see myself going anywhere else for flowers anymore.
