I brought my 2023 Toyota Highlander in for detailing. While the interior looked great, the next day…read morewe noticed numerous fine scratches across the exterior that were not there before. This is a newer, garage-kept, well-maintained vehicle, and the damage occurred while it was under the care of Recon Techs. When we returned to the business to address our concerns, the owner was nasty and confrontational and immediately dismissed the issue, blaming an automatic car wash, which was not the cause. We took the vehicle to a local auto body shop for an independent opinion. Without knowing where the car had been detailed, they confirmed the scratches were not consistent with car wash damage and were most likely caused by a dirty microfiber cloth. We then asked for recommendations on where to take the car for repairs and, coincidentally, they recommended Recon Tech, unaware that this was where the vehicle had been detailed. This auto body shop frequently refers clients to Recon Tech, but after seeing the damage on our vehicle, the owner stated he could no longer, in good conscience, continue referring customers to this business. We gave Recon Tech the opportunity to make things right, but they refused to work with us to resolve the situation.

I'm always weary trying somewhere new because it's an expensive service and you have to trust others opinions. Anyways, I posted in a moms group and a few people recommended TNS. I made an appointment and I can tell you I'll never go anywhere else. Truly the greatest detail. Not only is tim the owner & his crew thorough, they're incredibly punctual, and super trustworthy and kind. During my first detail I left jewelry in the car on accident and he texted me photos mid detail making sure I knew where it was. It was super honorable and loved the honesty! We've now done 2 details and the cars look BRAND new after their service. Trust me- you cannot go wrong with any service at TNS. It is worth every penny!

When I pointed Chase the owner he stated that once u go through your first wash it will have scratches. To some degree he is right, not WET sanding scratches.at that time I noticed another area not fixed and was able to get the dealership to approve that repair as well. When I came to pick up my vehicle after the secondary fix I noticed overspray inside the vehicle on the center infotainment display, head up display, shifter, various piano black finishes, and the instrument cluster display. Talked to Zane and immediately brought vehicle back that same Friday. Zane called before close and told me he applied a compound and that there may be a "haze". I picked up the car and went to get dinner and noticed the left driver window had severe overspray on it as well. Dropped the car off on Sunday as I work Saturdays...then crickets. Call Zane to do follow up and just keep being brushed off. Go in today March 2nd to have a discussion on how to proceed on the damages that were incurred while at the facility and the tldr is they refuse to fix what happened in there possession. I will include photos below. I will be filing attorney general complaint, submitting this review to all other socials, and taking the to court for the diminished value, loss of use, and my deductible. What a shame that the owner cant even have the stones to listen and apologize when something happens on a customers 80k car. Overspray on windows, not properly masked off and 0 accountability. Below are pictures of damage and the last one it the screen before repairs. Update. Went to charge the vehicle and noticed overspray on. My left rear rim which is the rear paint repair on quarter...but no call, text, or email. But they are sure to deny this too...what a shame they used to be better than this.

It was a simple swap nothing from the suspension needed to be removed, so I am perplexed about the inflated labor cost. I would strongly advise anyone with a classic vehicle to avoid this shop at all "cost" I received a call from Steve explaing the high labor cost to do the oil-pan swap and in the beginning he did inform me that his labor cost books did not go back that far for a 53 year old vehicle so in all fairness I googled the process of replacing said oil-pan and found out that the motor did need to be raised to allow room to make the swap. Steve did explain this to me but when I said that was his opinion boy did his demeanor change and as others have commented he did get rude. so I am amending my review to be fair to the shop; but I still would not recomend this shop for classic car repair. It is sad that it is very difficult to find a reputable repair shop in Springfield for classic cars.
