Making the decision to move to MVSA was very thought through and researched process. We searched…read moremany studios!!! We searched the reputation, reviewed the resumes of all the instructors and staff, visited the studio and had interviews with instructors and directors. We were impressed by the fact that it was summer and all dates and schedules for the following FULL year were given, along with cost and due dates. I was worried on how accurate the information was, and the amount budgeted for the dance year was exactly what was explained on day one. Holidays and days that the studio would be was closed were already disclosed. I could plan a vacation, a party and I could commitment to other events without worrying if the studio would be closed or would it the day of a Dance Show. I can plan our personal life around her dance schedule. There were no secrets. I had all the information to make an education decision. I loved that there was no pressure, I expressed my concerns about changing her. The Director never pushed me to register my daughter nor did she bad mouth the studio my daughter was with to persuaded us to transfer. The director in fact offered me to give them a week trial with no strings attached. It showed me the confidence they had in their academy. I also like the freedom that we were able to decide what courses we wanted our daughter to take a semester at a time. There was no mandatory regime from the academy. She could try a type of dance, if it wasn't to her liking she didn't have to continue the next semester. They order everything you need for you a week before class. On said day, you are able to meet al the instructors and pick up the items-LOVED this!! I tried to get items on my own thinking I may save a penny, and found that they sell the items cheaper then any of the local shops and even online. The leotards are an excellent quality at the end of the year they aren't stretched or faded out. A $40 leotard makes it through 9 months of normal washes in the washer. The costumes are also ordered by them, this is your Production Fee. Said fee includes your costumes and any hairpieces that they may need. You don't have to go all around town looking for anything, I don't have to go see the seamstress at a dance store and waste a Saturday, everything was handled on site. The costumes were sooooo much cheaper than what I had been paying. As well as the pictures for the yearbook, the photographer comes to the studio. The class picture will be in the yearbook, you don't have to pay for individual pictures for your daughter to be included. Plus, the yearbook is free. Is it expensive? The more hours your daughter dances the cheaper the hourly rate is. When I break down the number of hours per week and how many hours in a semester, I am paying so little. I couldn't play a babysitter that little to just take care of my daughter. Tickets for the show are the same price as any other studio. They have Observations-parents get to go in once a year and see what the girls are learning. Its not a show put together but an actual class. This is towards the end of the first semester, had I not like what I saw, I could have discontinued the lessons for the following semester. I have yet to experience not liking what I see. Unlike most dance studios and which you have to wait to the show. The front desk and staff are excellent with the emails sending parents all the information we need. When I have a question I call and the staff is able to answer my questions or is quick to call me back with the answer. Turns out on most occasions it was an email I missed to read. Our daughter had a personal blossom that year, which 3 years later still makes me happy to know that I made the right decision of moving her to MVSA. I can honestly say that this studio has made a world of difference in my daughters life.

My daughter danced there because we liked someone who was really good who was teaching there. But…read morehe's gone, and, oh my gosh, the training is so sub par. This is not the place for serious training. And the director is just always telling the moms their kids need overpriced privates. Way overpriced. Poor training. Rude people.
