The most important thing I learned in my first time purchasing a house was that finding the right people to help you along the way is crucial. You can read all you want about the steps to take (which I did), but finding experts in their fields makes the process easier and stress free. From the get go I knew Matt was going to be great to work with. Not only is he an expert in the legal services he provides, but he is honest and upfront about what his services entail and what the cost of those services will be (which are super fair after having just finished the whole process). Right up front Matt will tell you what needs to be done on his end i.e. title insurance, plot plans ; none of which I was super familiar with, but he took the time to educate me on why they were important. That was important to me, I didn't feel like my money spent was going to a unicorn fund or the tooth fairy (which everyone feels like each time a cost comes up that you didn't expect). By educating me I was on board with everything that needed to be done. Matt is a warm-hearted and responsible guy. My case was a little special. On the day of closing, he still patiently wait for my finance assistant's reply. He had to postpone the closing time from 9:30 am to 11:30, and finally to 1:20 pm. My wiring fund also met some troubles. The originating bank wired it to a totally nonexistent account. Matt and his assistant help me a lot. They even joined the phone-call I communicated with the bank supervisor and finally got the fund back in time.
