The most important thing I learned in my first time purchasing a house was that finding the right people to help you along the way is crucial. You can read all you want about the steps to take (which I did), but finding experts in their fields makes the process easier and stress free. From the get go I knew Matt was going to be great to work with. Not only is he an expert in the legal services he provides, but he is honest and upfront about what his services entail and what the cost of those services will be (which are super fair after having just finished the whole process). Right up front Matt will tell you what needs to be done on his end i.e. title insurance, plot plans ; none of which I was super familiar with, but he took the time to educate me on why they were important. That was important to me, I didn't feel like my money spent was going to a unicorn fund or the tooth fairy (which everyone feels like each time a cost comes up that you didn't expect). By educating me I was on board with everything that needed to be done. Matt was prompt in his responses to my emails, he filled me in when needed, and updated me when the ball was in my court to respond. The closing took place at his office in Westwood (he has another in Wellesley) and similar to my previous experience, everything I needed to sign (which is a lot!) was thoroughly explained to me. Before I left Matt further educated me on tax breaks that I needed to apply for next year for living in Boston. I would give my highest recommendation to work with Matt and his team at Scafidi Juliano, LLP. Next time I need to make a home purchase he will definitely be on the receiving end of my phone call read more

At 66 years old, I've gone through many closings in my lifetime, but my experience with Scafidi Law stands out as one of the smoothest and most efficient, if not the very best. From start to finish, the level of communication was exceptional, and the team was incredibly flexible in managing every situation that arose. Here are just a few examples of how Scafidi Law went above and beyond: Matthew went out of his way to change the closing location for us, arranging for us to close at an office just one town over, rather than having to trek across all of Boston. Less than a week before closing, the mortgage company raised an unexpected issue requiring revisions to all of our paperwork. Scafidi Law handled the updates seamlessly and on time. On the eve of our closing, I had to rush my wife to the emergency room with Influenza A and a dangerously high heart rate of 180 beats per minute. Despite this, Matthew reassured me that everything would be taken care of. After we had already wired the funds, he quickly adjusted the plan and made it possible to complete the closing electronically via DocuSign. The level of professionalism, knowledge, and integrity shown by Scafidi Law truly exceeded my expectations. They are focused on delivering the best customer experience, and I couldn't be more grateful. I highly recommend Scafidi Law without hesitation. Thank you! read more

My husband and I hired Matt as our layer for the purchase of our home in Massachusetts. We signed the P&S for new construction which was partially underway, and maintained our residence in Chicago until a few weeks before closing. Matt guided us through the entire process from the beginning to our closing. We faced several closing delays (construction delays) and some challenges from the builder. Matt always responded to our questions and concerns promptly, thoroughly and expertly. He also represented our best interests to the seller's legal rep professionally achieving satisfactory outcomes. Matt helped make a sometimes difficult process feel manageable, and we recommend him with full confidence. read more

I worked with Matt and Griffin in this incredibly competitive and fast paced real estate market. My closing was on a short timeline and this was my first time buying a home in MA. There were also some other timing considerations with the sellers to work through. I was new to the area, starting a new job, and any miscommunication in language, documents, or numbers would've created additional stress - so I am thankful for their expertise and service. He and his team were incredibly thorough, responsive, and clear communicators. They worked closely with my lender, and the paperwork process felt very seamless and easy. I highly recommend! read more

Matt Scafidi was great to work with for the closing of the purchase of my house. He was a good communicator (replied to my Qs in timely manner, emailed me Qs & what I was expected to do, etc.), professional (knowledgeable about the buyer's closing), approachable (his tone of "voice" in words & writing was friendly) and affordable (his fee was lower than other lawyers I had contacted). I was able to relax during the prep period and my families enjoyed our in-person closing very much. He took a picture of us after the closing. I highly recommend him for any real estate closing. read more

Matt is a warm-hearted and responsible guy. My case was a little special. On the day of closing, he still patiently wait for my finance assistant's reply. He had to postpone the closing time from 9:30 am to 11:30, and finally to 1:20 pm. My wiring fund also met some troubles. The originating bank wired it to a totally nonexistent account. Matt and his assistant help me a lot. They even joined the phone-call I communicated with the bank supervisor and finally got the fund back in time. Without Matt's help, my closing would be delayed at least several days. Very good service! read more

We worked with Matt Scafidi during our (first time) home buying process based on a word-of-mouth referral, and we are so glad we did! Matt and his firm were quick to respond whenever we had questions, communicated with us throughout the process, and helped translate a lot of the home buying legalese into something we could easily understand. Closing was quick and straightforward with Matt, and we appreciated his flexibility with meeting location (at either his Waltham or Wellesley office) and time of day. He's a cool guy, we'd work with him again in a heartbeat! read more

We closed on our first home today and received excellent service from Matt and everyone at Scafidi Juliano. Matt is very knowledgeable and answered every single question we had. Additionally, my husband needed to be at work at 9am on the day of the closing and Matt suggested we come at 7:30am to get all paperwork singed. It meant a lot to us that he went out of his way so early in the morning. Lastly, I will say that every email and request was answered within minutes. They are professional and attentive and I highly recommend using Scafidi Juliano Law Firm! read more

Karina was recommended to me from a family member to be the attorney representing us in both buying privately and selling with a realtor. She was great to work with. She was very attentive to detail and knowledgeable. She was very responsive, even after 5pm, which was greatly appreciated. She was very transparent throughout the entire process and helped our private sale run very smoothly, even after our lender would no longer let us work with her. She made the process effortless, and I would definitely look for her expertise in the future it needed. read more
