We were worried about getting our end done - we should've worried about the contractor who didn't pay subs (who refused to finish work), left big chunks of work until the DAY before we moved in, (on a 10 week project), was unlicensed, verbally abusive and tried to extort extra money from us. In the end, we just wanted him gone, but were worried about legal repercussions of firing him without paying him everything in the contract. Ms Goldman's website helped me learn a lot about the legal aspects I needed to consider, and she even took time to speak to me on the phone, listen to my situation, let me know I probably didn't need to hire a lawyer for the amount of money involved, and even helped come up with a carefully-worded email letting this guy know we were through with him.
