We hired Saul to repair the interior walls in an old home that we purchased in Riverside. The home is 50 years old and had extensive damage to the interior walls including some large pieces of drywall to replace. We had to get the work completed quickly since our other house was sold and we had to move out. Saul fit us into his schedule the next day and he worked until late at night to get all the repairs completed since the painters had already started prepping. His work was truly amazing, he repaired all the wall damage and was able to match the old wall texture even though the original texture was poorly applied. SC Drywall and Paint Assemble! Avengers Assemble! Honestly? I usually dread hiring contractors... it feels like dealing with Loki (chaos). But Saul and his crew are Earth's Mightiest Heroes (The Avengers) for real. Saul is more than a painter, he's like the Tony Stark of drywall, as he's super detailed, loves the tech/craft of it, and actually cares about the result. He didn't just rush in. He really took the time to look at different options and angles with us... kinda like Dr Strange viewing all the timelines in the Multiverse (but no madness) to make sure we got the best outcome. We had them paint the entire compound (okay, tract home) Interior, Garage, and Exterior. * Hawkeye Vision: While he was up on the ladder, Saul spotted some cracked tiles and other issues we totally missed. Dude has eagle eyes. * Clean Up: He noticed a bunch of old unused cables in the wall (ancient history like Cap before the ice) and helped us plug them. * Stucco Repair: Even removed an old antenna and patched the stucco so it looks perfect. He had been scheduled about 1 week prior to come do some work. He texted me the day before the work was to begin saying that he needed me to give him a deposit of about half the total cost. Seemed a bit sketchy for half the cost to be the deposit, but even then I agreed. I moved my schedule and items around the house just for him to begin work. He didn't pick up the deposit and also didn't show up to do the work. He then later responded saying he could pick up the deposit but wasn't sure when he could start the work, which seemed shady. I told him I would give him the deposit but I needed to have a set date of when he would get the job done. He later responded saying he is busy and to just hire someone else. Overall I'm very satisfied with the work that was performed. I really appreciated how kind they were whenever we communicated and they did all work that was requested in 1.5 hours. They were super affordable too!! The work, once they arrived, was done in a timely manner and they were very professional. They don't accept credit cards so that was a surprise, but I was able to use zelle. That would have been good to know ahead of time in case I was wanting to finance a job ( I just wanted my points lol). They did drop plastic to cover my items before working so I appreciated that. They also cleaned up their work areas well and I didn't have to do any kind of clean up on my own. A couple things I wish they would have done better mainly surround communication and punctuality. First issue was about communication so here are things that worked and things that didn't. Communication that worked: Responding to my Yelp project bid and actually looking at the uploaded pictures. It's super annoying when people ask for pictures after you've already uploaded them to your bid so great job on this one! They provided the itemized estimate as requested. They were great about texting back in a timely manner. They also let me know they needed to reschedule. Communication that failed: Not giving me a solid arrival time before I asked for it later that day. Not giving me a call when they got lost and were 30 minutes past the rescheduled time. Not keeping their word that they could finish by 5 pm. Not telling me how I could pay before they arrived. And finally, not communicating that the texturing they would do was different than the type I have ( I ended up being ok with this because this is a rental property, but I'd be mad if it was my forever home). Second issue, punctuality and communication, the day of the appointment they asked to reschedule later in the afternoon so I obliged and said as long as they are FINISHED by 5 that should work. They said that shouldn't be a problem, but then they didn't arrive until 5 pm. That was super annoying because it made me significantly late to my appointment later that evening. While there are certainly things to improve on with communication and punctuality I am very satisfied with the actual work that was done and I'd certainly use them again!! read more

I had a slab leak, and the plumber had to reroute the new pipe through my walls and ceiling leaving gaping holes. Saul did an excellent job in repairing and repainting both the walls and ceiling which now look as good or better than before. He was also very reasonable in pricing and repaired several holes that had previously been made in my walls to test for asbestos including repainting which required a whole different color of paint in my bathroom, and he only charged me an additional $100 for this. He is obviously highly competent and knowledgeable in his work and seemingly can fix anything. My bathroom door was sticking and not closing properly, and he fixed that very quickly for no extra charge. He was also very nice and personable and also reliable always coming when he said he would.
