This used to be a great place for auto repairs. Now, not so much, and I'm not sure why. Bill used…read moreto be a reliable guy. On our latest visit, we were given a list of repairs, all of which seemed reasonable. At the time, our schedule was busy, so we just had one repair done, related to our car hesitating. Then - a few weeks later - our car was still hesitating now and then (and more dramatically) as we drove it. It wasn't quite enough for our car to stall, but it made us very uneasy. We took the car to another mechanic, explaining the hesitation issue. We gave that shop a copy of our recent receipts from 535, so these other mechanics would know what had already been done. They tried one fix after another, but nothing fully resolved the issue. Several days later, they still hadn't found what was wrong with the car... until they revisited the repair that 535 had done. Laughing as they explained the folly of not giving that repair a second glance until they'd eliminated everything else... they said it was a relatively simple fix, directly related to the 535 repair. Our car is running fine now, thanks to their work. It may have been an unusual misstep on 535's part, but the last time we saw Bill - a few days after the repair at his shop - something felt different. He wasn't the same, friendly Bill. Whatever it was, I hope Bill and his team get it straightened out. However, we're not likely to return to 535 Auto Care.

It was advised that I needed new front pads and rotors, and that a complete brake inspection was done (on my invoice). One month later, I noticed my left front brake was extremely hot, and there was a burning smell. Prior to this, I had noticed some brake noise and slight pull, but did not think of it. I immediately brought it back in. I was told that my caliper was sticking and it would be repaired. That same evening, I called for an update (as they did not follow up) and was told they could not get parts and would not be able to complete for another two days. They ended up completing the work without calling my warranty company for authorization. When I tried to pick up the vehicle, they finally called the warranty company, and my claim was denied as they changed the diagnoses to "failed hose," which should have been done when they replaced my brakes and inspected a month earlier. I finally left with my car three hours later after paying the nearly $600 bill (for the second time). The very next morning, after driving 4 miles, I had smoke billowing out of my brakes. I called the store and was accused by Gloria of "wanting something for free" and she reluctantly covered the tow truck to pick my jeep back up. Later that evening, I called for another follow up (as nobody called me) and was told by Tiffany that it was a defective rotor. She agreed to keep the rotor so I could inspect with Carlos and the tech the following morning when I picked up my jeep. The following morning, I arrived and picked up my Jeep. I asked Carlos to show me the failed rotor with the tech, and he immediately advised that it was NOT the rotor, but rather that the tech did not replace the hoses or complete the actual brake job that they invoiced for. They sent me away with an unsafe vehicle that was never actually repaired, which is a huge safety issue. The shop has since taken zero accountability, and the corporate team is gaslighting me. They have offered a coupon for a future visit, with no real solution for the negligence. As someone that has spent well over $20k with this company, I will no longer be a patron. They need to do better.

I guess he had his family in the car so he wasn't even intending on actually doing any work it seems that day. He put the code reader in and tells me that I'm just having a sensor error more than likely. I told him that I need a new PCV valve installed and possibly the EGR valve needed to be cleaned or replaced according to my other diagnosis I've received and then there was an issue with the spark plug. He told me that the spark plug issue needs to be handled at a muffler shop and then he also pointed out that my wiring was messed up and that he would fix it. We agreed that he would come out the next day. I had an emergency, so I said can we schedule for sometime next week? We both agreed on Tuesday at 3 PM. He did not show up, he said oh he was busy and he said Friday would be better. He did not show up again and then he says oh come to my shop. I say OK, where is your shop? He then says oh don't worry about it, I will be to you in the morning. The morning arrives, he did not show up so I text him what is going on? Are you going to be able to do the job or not? No reply, he left it on Read. He agreed that the hundred dollars was for the diagnostic and labor to fix the wiring and possibly the other things I had mentioned I was concerned about, but he said it was a sensor issue. All in all I would not hire this person. He pretends to be a good person but he is not. He's been reading my messages and just letting it sit there until he feels like replying just to play games on the phone and keep saying he's gonna show up one day and he doesn't all this time. I could've hired an actual professional to fix my vehicle. I don't understand how he's even in business. If he's saying he's busy, guess what I am a customer too so he should be busy making the appointments he makes with me. He doesn't speak good English so if you don't speak Spanish, good luck trying to understand completely what's going on because I barely did. Go to a professional save yourself money that could go towards actually fixing your vehicle. He's a waste of time.
