Time after time I was reminded of why I should make the drive to La Costa however, my last visit will probably be just that: the last. I usually get booked with a different wax specialist every time due to my changing schedule (I select the "any waxer" option during booking) so I had hopes that I'd possibly find my perfect match here. Closest to such thing was LoveJoy (I think that's her name?), as she did a great job and was non judgmental plus super nice and not pushing sales. Anyway, I arrived 12 min early to check in and waited 8-9 min to be seen AFTER my appointment. They have a very tight late policy so I decided to ask the receptionist if there was any procedure to the waxer being late past their own customer late policy time (8-9 min I believe) and she very rudely said "there's no one to help so you can reschedule if you'd like"... okay? I had been waiting for 20 min I obviously wasn't going to leave I just wanted to know if there was something in return for the inconvenience lol. After my last appointment I was sent a text message asking to rate my experience and I sent them a very detailed message about my low rating and they never got back to me. I won't post the name of the waxer but there was PATCHES of dry wax with hair attached on the floor and even on her work area. I was shocked when I walked in as there were at least five pieces around the room and obviously visible. I'm talking I had to basically step on them or kick them away so I could climb up the chair (because they don't have a stool/step). I snapped a picture because I was simply shook. I have never seen such thing before especially at a place that prides themselves in hygiene and more so with those prices! Additionally, the waxer was just really not genuine, she was rushing, and pushing so hard against my skin for unknown reason. I was so uncomfortable. For all I know, the spa treatments may be great, but this review is about the massages... ...and their review practices, which is probably why this page is flooded with 5-star reviews. They'll text you multiple times, asking for you to review them if you give them your phone number, until you do; they'll also ask this right after you get your massage too.
