In all honesty I cannot speak about what the nightlife is at this place or if the drinks are good or not because it has been quite a while since I have experienced the nightlife here. The reason why I give them 5 stars is because of their willingness to give back. I was at the club several weeks ago for a fundraiser for The Central CT Coast YMCA, an organization which provides amazing opportunities for children in our community. Came here for happy hour on a Friday and I was not impressed. The happy hour consist of one sugary drink special, free Swedish meatballs, and frozen garlic bread that reminded me of what they used to serve in grade school. The drinks were expensive...there are definitely better options if you are going to spend $8-$10+ for a drink. If you are in Bridgeport, go to Captain's Cove or somewhere like that. Better atmosphere, better drinks, and better looking crowd. Service was terrible. You know it will always be adventure when you have to track down a waitress (who would rather check phone instead of work) for service! The only bright spot was the music being played...the DJ was decent. Unfortunately, I wont be back...and I can't recommend this place. read more

I was here Saturday night very nice place good parking, security was good reasonable entrance charge. I ordered food but kitchen was closed however the owner went out of her way to get my the most delicious chicken patties I've ever had YUMMY! Unfortunately I asked for a coconut mojito and is was discussing she made it with Malibu rum smashed mint and half a can of coconut milk no lime? Yuck! To me a coconut mojito is mint lime symple syrup coconut cream Bacardi and ice maybe I'm wrong who knows all I know is it taste horrible when I complaint she offers to poor more Malibu rum Instead of changing my drink SMH. I went there for the first time with my wife. First of all it was a weekend and it was empty. Second it's ghetto. Also I had to pay to 10 dollars for parking, so I guess that if you don't have cash the parking attendant will take cash app. Which he did for 10 dollars. Then I had to pay ten dollars at the entrance each person. That's already 30 dollars spent and did not even have a beer to drink. Then I ordered a Mofongo con carne frita and it was very salty. (Salao). So over 50 dollars spent it couldn't even enjoy good music. I also too a 45 minute drive to get there. We were very disappointed. read more

This post is pertaining to all cons. For starters, the service was horrendous especially to rent for an event. The communication was horrible! I had an event here and flyers were supposed to come with the package. Yet, I never received my flyers nor did management contact me regarding why! The staff had disgusting attitudes, this event was apart of the package where all guest were free before 11. However, that was a rip-off! I love Sazon Y Mambo! It always has great music and it is always a good time every time I go! The food is great also, you have to try the sampler platter and the alcapurrias. Its a great ambiance in there and the staff is great from the owners down to the security and bar staff and waitresses. I always go there to see Eliza, she is the bomb but no matter who you get your drinks and service will be consistent. It is recently under new management and you can tell they really care and are making awesome updates, excited to see what's to come! read more

My friend had here birthday party here and, overall, a good time was had by all. The Good: 1. The space is huge! More than enough dancing room, which means no one will be stepping all on your toes while your trying to get your bachata on. 2. Appetizer were scrumptious. We had some sampler platters with tostones, empanadas, and chicharrones de cerdo y pollo. We ordered alcapurrias on the side and they were just okay (too under seasoned for my taste). 3. The music was acceptable once the DJ started going. Early in the night (9:30pm-ish) they had a CD mix going, a few depressing songs were played, like El Gran Varon by Willie Colon (oops, not exactly a get this party started song). Despite the musical snafus at the beginning of the night, the DJ brought the party back to life. The Bad: 1. It shouldn't take 15 - 20 minutes to order a drink when the place is practically empty. Besides my friends and I, there were only about 10 people in the place and none of them were waiting for drinks. The major problem here is that apparently, the bartender was also the server. So while a few of us stood around at the bar waiting to be served, the bartender was in the kitchen. No bueno man! 2. As I said above, the place was practically empty when we arrived and remained pretty dead for most of the night. A few people trickled in here and there as the night progressed but not enough to consider the scene live. The Ugly: 1. Ma'am please don't cup my boobs when searching me! SMH. Whenever I go to a place that requires that I be pat down, it makes me nervous and I want to run like hell. You (the business) are essentially telling me that your clientele can not be trusted, therefore you have to take extreme measures to ensure my safety. But I was already there and it was my friends birthday party, so I sucked it up and submitted to the search. How the search went from a search to a groping, I'll never know. All I know is - I walked in, said I was there for a birthday party, the guy at the door told me to wait, he called some lady from inside to come out, she started patting me down, and ended by cupping my boobies. After talking with the other ladies in the group, they confirmed the same thing happen to them (so I should feel better? *shrug*) Again, once we got past all the initial rough patches, we made the whole place our personal party. if i could give zero stars i would. this is the absolute worst place i have ever been to. my group and i bought two vip tables and paid over $200. the management never gave us wrist bands for this, but the bouncers all let us in. about an hour after we were let in, the manager and other employees stormed into the vip section and aggressively grabbing everyone and kicking everyone out who didn't have a wristband. we explained we had paid for it and the bouncers ignored it and put their hands on us and physically threw us out. the bouncer picked up on of our friends, opened the door outside, and threw her outside. we demanded a refund and the bouncer told us lfuck off bitches". terrible service. terrible management. terrible establishment overall. will be reported to the better business bureau immediately. read more

The best thing about this place is the dj. I was here on a Sunday. He can really keep people going. Besides that is horrendous. The food is low quality. The kitchen was backed up. The food came late and cold. The waitress was all over the place. Many of the orders were wrong. The mimosas had little alcohol. I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with the food and drinks. I've been to this club plenty of times but I'm sad to say lastnight was the last time. I reserved a table for my birthday with their $100 bottle specials before 11pm along with free entry for 4 people. I arrived at the club at 11:07pm and was told i was the only one would get free entry. I was fine with that. Then I was told to go in and find the waitress myself. After driving 45 minutes to get there i went to the restroom immediately. When i came out and found the waitress it was about 11:14pm. She told me they couldnt honor the bottle specials because i was late. I asked her to see if the owner (who wasnt there) could still honor the price and i was going to purchase an additional bottle making it 3 bottles. At this point i was directed to the owners husband who acted as if he was giving me a deal by offering 2 bottles at $100 and 1 bottle at $150. I agreed to that after going back and forth for 15 minutes. I get the bill and the subtotal was $380 which should've been $350. The bottle prices were right but now i was being charged $5 each for the mixers. Never have i ever been charged for mixers when I've purchased bottles at any club. By this time an hour was wasted of my night trying to get the correct bill. He threw in a bottle of cheap champagne, i guess to make up for it. I will say the food is good. I always order the platter to go. The music was also good. We made the best of it after all the aggravation but will not return again. read more

This place was great! Was there Saturday night for a friends graduation party and good times were had by all! Drinks were inexpensive and delicious, the atmosphere was great, everything was visible without the place being too dark, and the music selection was great! While some people might pass this place up due to the neighborhood, the parking is very secure and security really were on top of things. There wasn't a moment I didn't feel safe. On the flyer posted on Sazon y mambo Facebook page it said 2 for 1 until 11pm when I approached the manager about it he said the flyer was a mistake and he was not going to honor it. He would only allow the 2 for 1 on drinks I had ordered previously. One of the owners came out to talk with me he was very polite and explained he was aware of the mistake and made right by it. This place is where you need to come for great ambiance, music, networking, and food. It's also great to host an event, meetings, bdays, or any other kind of celebration. It's the closest thing to being on the Island but right here at home. This place is huge! I've seen them do outdoor summer specials which is great. I'm not too fond about the neighborhood but it is right off the highway so it's easy to see and get to. What was once a lively, happy, jamm-packed club is now at the end if it's hay days. Went there for a friend's Birthday party and it was EMPTY. There were more staff than paying patrons. I think there might've been a total of 50 in a place that looks like it can hold 500. Several weeks before the India event @the salsa and mambo club I called for reservations since the date fell on the same day of my nieces birthday...spoke who who I thought was one of the people In charge (mr Charlie Otero) or that would be able to assist me with my reservations...he quickly was willing to assist and stated he would make all possible..promising ..VIP reservations. Cake. 3 tables...and he stated we would also have a free plater on him..we was willing to pay whatever it cost..but because we had over 30 plus people coming he said. Just buy the tickets at regular price and I will get you guys the VIP section..well come to find out. ...no VIP. .wE did not get anything of what was promised...shame on you Charlie. You are a liar...a bs...luckily we still made the best of the night..lucky for us I have a family that makes the best of everything no matter what obstacles are in the way..but also shame on the club...even thou their employee lied to us..all they could do was accommodate us with 2 bar tables and a few chairs...did not even offer a free drink to the birthday girl...that's a shame because us as Latinos really need to learn how to handle a business such as this so we can move up in this world to be the best we can be..
