Does this look like a wedding that was planned in two weeks? (AMAZING)
Lynn C.

Once I got engaged, I knew I had to get a wedding planner. I live on the mainland but my dream was to come home to Hawaii and have a wedding at Ko Olina. The hunt was on: I asked about half a dozen brides who had gotten married recently in Hawaii and one name kept coming up over and over again: Say I Do by Karisa. Then I saw her last name and I was like...wait a minute. That name sounds SO FAMILIAR. So I called my Mom and she's like, "yeah, you had dinner with her and her sister when you were really small". Sorry, that was a tangent. But see, she's so memorable that I remembered her from over 20 years ago! She is responsive, caring, and once she's understood what your dream is (or for me, lack of a vision so she helped me figure it out), will execute it. Our plans for a March wedding were slightly altered; we decided to have a small ceremony within a two week period instead. I promptly freaked out. Karisa, on the other hand, literally texted me after I stopped texting a flurry of words that probably made little sense, "I got you". And she did. She executed the most beautiful wedding in two weeks. I didn't have to do much, just choose what I liked better, paid the vendors, and she handled the rest (which included calming me down, so she's like a therapist too). Some of my friends and family caught wind that we were doing this impromptu ceremony and were stunned when they saw the pictures because, I quote, "oh I thought you were just doing this small thing". The day was perfect. My husband I were floored with how beautiful and amazing the day was. We are still using Karisa for our wedding in March as well (Say I Do, PART TWO) and I rely on Karisa for any event I have. Because she is amazing. Contact her if you would like your stress level to come down to a manageable level when planning and executing your event, and also interact with one of the sweetest, fun people I've ever met.

UMU has time and time again delivered and then some on the promises they make. In uncertain times, I would highly recommend their team to shake up and settle in your marketing and PR needs. Not to mention they are an absolute pleasure to be around!

After incessant inquires from a friend who ran a non-profit for Special Olympics Hawaii, Amanda (a recent college graduate) jumped at the opportunity for a full-time job & an office of her own. After 4 years working as Special Olympics Hawaii's marketing manager, Amanda realized she wanted to help other non-profit organizations grow, which inspired her to start her own business. Under My Umbrella was initially located in the Manoa Maketplace & relocated to their new home in the heart of Kaka'ako; Amanda decided to move their office in this neighborhood to be closer to their sister company: Taste Table (a permanent pop-up with a variety of rotating food vendors who showcase their culinary skills). This move also helped to create the sense a community for the staff, since most of UMU's clients are in the downtown area. Under My Umbrella is a wonderful example of a public relations, marketing & events company that's mastered the balance between helping start-up businesses & working with larger clients. UMU is proof that exceeding your client's expectations & continuing not to compromise their sustainability beliefs produces results (PROOF: UMU rarely seeks out their clients because companies are impressed with their creativity & collective work experience). Some of Under My Umbrella's short-term goals include completing their taxes on time, organizing the layout of their office & getting their staff adjusted to their new environment. Under My Umbrella is focused on supporting the local businesses in their area & eventually growing their company to be a national brand; UMU would like to share the concept of building communities around chefs & farmers with the rest of the world. I'm anxious awaiting the wonderful things Under My Umbrella has planned for the rest of 2013 & I'm positive they'll continue to take Kaka'ako by storm. Be sure to follow Under My Umbrella on your social networks to witness their continuous growth as a small business & if you're interested in improving your companies' public relations & marketing or need help with an event, look no further than Under My Umbrella.
