I didn't buy anything....YET…read more My favorite part of this record store is that it's ORGANIZED. Used CDs are in ABC order, there's a section for 45s, dollar bins, DVDs and VHS, and both a playable Nintendo Entertainment System and a SEGA Genesis! It was fun to peruse through the countless merch. The music playing over the shop's sound system was EXCELLENT. Made me want to take my time just so I could listen to whatever was playing at the time. This is one of the cleanest, finest record shops I've been in to, and I can't wait to go back.

Very late stage capitalism. This seems more like a vintage clothing store that sells records; they…read morereally seem to be trying hard to cultivate a vibe, but it's sad. The vintage clothing section is small, and some of it is legit vintage. They have some local photos and t-shirts and suchlike. It's not Balsa Bills, by any means, but if you collect that stuff, have a look. I will not buy vinyl here because they are trashing their own stock. They store hundreds of LP's in flimsy cardboard boxes piled atop one another under the racks, and the covers get bent, flaky and dog eared. If you lack the initiative to make wooden LP crates for your under stock, you are not really interested. There is usually one person hanging out behind the counter, but they're not what you'd call interested. The prices are high for the condition but if you don't mind trashed covers I heard you can sometimes find a playable record for a couple of bucks.

9.9 Comics - CGC Authorized Dealer! Another Happy Customer with his new graded comics!

When it comes to comics, most people in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area often think of Famous Faces &…read moreFunnies. They have a ton of comics and comic-related paraphernalia for sale. However, there is another comic place that specializes in higher-end or rarer comics: 9.9 Comics. As a former comic collector, I like this as certain comics are definitely worth having especially when it comes to the overall worth of one's collection. For starters, 9.9 Comics is located in the same shopping plaza as Mingee's Korean Kitchen and Vinyl Request Records, the one located at the northwest quadrant of the Sarno Rd. and Apollo Blvd. intersection. It is a rather small store compared to others in the plaza, but what they do have for what they sell amazes me: CGC comics. In comics, the Comic Guaranty Company (CGC) is known for being the first independent and impartial third-party grading service. This means they grade comics on numerous factors such as rarity for example. They often utilize colors to help differentiate comics as well as number ratings. Color examples include blue meaning common (nothing outside of the norm) and yellow meaning signature series (signature of a very important person associated with said comic on it as observed by CGC associate). As for the number ratings, it is as it sounds. The higher the number, the better. 9.9 Comics tries to have comics that cater with the higher ratings preferably those in mint condition (which is 9.9 according to CGC). They do have toys, collectables, and events too, but comics of a higher caliber seems to be their centralized bread and butter. With that in mind, expect to pay a tad bit more over the common comic too.
