A fantastic family run spot. They leave you alone to browse but if you have a question they are total professionals. Wide variety of unusual titles.Prices could not be fairer. Not for people in a hurry or afraid of a little dust. I've heard complaints that some of the stock is less than mint condition, however you're paying less than $5 for most of it, and it's readable. Great Bookstore! And you can't beat the prices! All soft backs are $1, yes only a $1. This was our second trip to Nu2U Books. Being from Kentucky and only visiting the area during the summer. This is the best used bookstore I have ever been in or heard of because of several things: 1- The former owner, Dave, found amazing people to take over his store when he retired, 2- new owners are friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. They are not afraid to change things up, reorganize the store, purge the inventory now and again, 3- you really can't beat their pricing scheme as most books cost from $1 - $3, 4- they "buy" books (give you store credit) and let you pay with up to 50% store credit, 5- the selection varies widely and turns over at a pretty good pace. Ok used bookstore. Most of the books I looked at were run of the mill books that were discarded for a reason.

Dave is expanding (yet again) to include an additional warehouse space. This place is still as wonderful as it was before. The only possible downsides are the height of some books that could be painful if dislodged, and not enough width for wheelchairs or big strollers. Dave is a genius of some sort. No inventory system except his brain. You can ask him about ANY English-language book and he will close his eyes, access the mental vault, open his eyes, and then state definitively if he has it and where it is located. He can probably do this with non-English works as well, as there is a decent selection of books in other languages. Lots of chairs and stools scattered about for sitting & perusing, or climbing to the top of a bookcase. Speaking of stool, there is a clean bathroom available (snicker). Do not plan on 'dropping in' for one specific book (although it'll probably be there). The atmosphere and tall shelving, the sheer enormity & quantity of books...if you can resist at least one hour here, you probably hate to read. Cash or book trade in only. Sometimes it's very crowded, so you may have a wait for your trade-in books to be examined and given value. Fans only, no A/C. This can be uncomfortable for me at times, as the store does not open until noon. read more

He will welcome you in by name if u are a returning customer if u are new he ask Ur name introduces himself and then explains how to store is organized and will guide u to the section u are interested in browsing. He pays attention and will learn Ur likes and try to keep on the look out for books u may want or request. Being a repeat customer also gives u the benefit of earning credit by trading in books to buy more books. There are is also a wide variety of collectibles spread throughout the store to browse as well. From toys and figurines to books and mangas, this shop really has it all. The owner is SO welcoming and friendly and even has chairs set up for customer use. My father and I were visiting Melbourne for a few days when we stumbled upon this bookstore. (We are both book lovers). Only a book lover would understand how excited we were to find this shop. We were in book heaven. We are from a northern state and we have only a couple used book stores in our area and they are at least $2 per book most of them more. We couldn't believe paperbacks were only $1 . We were in Melbourne for 5 days on 3 of those a days we visited this book store all in all I got probably around 150 books for myself(probably more) and my father bought at least 100 for himself. Now about the owner Dave... When we arrived on day 1 his shop was pretty busy... He has new and old customers but let me tell you we were treated like old customers just like he has known us for years. Each customer was waited on, one by one wether it 1 minute or 15. Each customer was treated like a close friend and as if they were the most important customer of all. Each customer happily waited their turn as they each knew the kind of service they would receive from Dave. Everyone is amazed by Daves ability to recollect every book he has and even more amazing "it's location" in not only 3 huge rooms but, also another storage warehouse across the way from his store.On day 3 I returned with a list from family members back home( I called them about this great bookstore and each gave me a list) so day 3 was family back home book day ( I did find a few more for myself as did my father) . This is a great bookstore! And is run by a wonderful person. We highly recommend this store if you are a book lover this is a must visit store . We will definitely visit this store again!
