Savvydoodle phoebe
Rebecca R.

This is our 4th doodle mix in ten years and we are blown away. Phoebe is a Saavydoodle - bernese, poodle and bouvier. First off, the dog is beautiful. She has light fur with white on her head and paws, looks like a little lioness. Second, she is incredibly smart and learns quickly. I've been through the puppy nightmare and when we bought her we mentally prepared for 5 months of puppy life. Phoebe took cues from our 1 yr old Bernadoodle and quickly learned to use the dog door, walk on a leash properly and basically go with the flow. She's the smartest and sweetest dog we have ever had. It's safe to say the family loves her and is a tab bit obsessed! The process to purchase and ship her was easy. Crystal was great to work with. I'd highly recommend. Would get another one but 3 large dogs will take over as a pack!

Savvy doodles are incredible dogs with a perfect temperament. Our girl came home to us at 12 weeks and you can tell she has been worked with on many basic commands, using a doggy door and she is very socialized, loving everyone, especially other dogs. She was so easy to potty train and is the smartest puppy we've ever had.

I found a few Bernedoodle breeders when we decided it was time to get a puppy. I was most impressed with Crystal at Savvy. She answered my questions promptly and I could tell she knew all about this breed and cares a lot about matching dogs well with families. We waited only a couple months. The process of choosing a pup and delivery was clear and went smoothly. Aside from basics like good health and temperament, the most important thing to us was getting a hypoallergenic coat, because we have a family member with allergies. Crystal was confident she could identify that trait in the puppies and pointed out the ones to pick from. Sure enough, our allergic family member has no reaction to Shasta (almost a year old). She is the smartest and sweetest dog ever. We're all very happy and will certainly go to Savvy, if we decide Shasta needs a pal.

Luna, 1 year old!

We stumbled across Savvy Bernedoodle when I googled the breed since I had never heard of it, but we were looking for a hybrid, hypo-allergenic pup. It was fate because I really wasn't wanting a brand new puppy, and was really looking to rescue, and low and behold the very first post on the page was a 4mo old beauty named Luna who was looking to be re-homed! It as the perfect combination and I got to face-time with the pup that night and arranged to drive to Vegas from LA and back the following week to get her. She is now 2 years old and seriously the best addition to our family we could have made. Her personality is unmatched, she is so attentive and we're looking to train her to be a therapy dog to visit hospitals because she has a keen sense of comforting those in distress. She is now an amazing big sister to our 9mo old doodle rescue and we are so lucky to have found her and Crystal. Crystal was so attentive to questions and the adoption process, very clear and thorough! The next time we're looking to add to our pack, I'll be taking a trip to Washington to Savvy again!

We bought a four month old Bernedoodle from Savvy Bernedoodles and are very happy with our puppy and the whole experience. Crystal is responsive and a good communicator. Getting a four month old puppy has been a great decision. Duffy is well socialized with other dogs and people. Plus, she was trained to use a doggy door and was practically housebroken when we picked her up. This is so much easier than getting an eight week old puppy.

Philip had serious dog…read morereactivity--he would lunge and bark at other dogs during our walks, and it was getting really stressful for both of us. Elena, the owner, did an amazing job helping us work through that. She took the time to understand his behavior and gave him the structure and guidance he needed. I noticed a big change after the training--he's much calmer, more focused, and I feel so much more confident walking him now. I'm really thankful for Elena's help and highly recommend Gannet K-9 Training, especially if you're dealing with obedience or reactivity issues. She truly cares and knows what she's doing. Thank you again, Elena!

She is such a sweet girl with my husband and I but becomes aggressive, anxious and highly excitable in new situations. Lunging when on the leash around other dogs and barking uncontrollably when new people come to our house were 2 of the biggest problems we knew we needed help with. Lisa was recommended to us by another trainer as an expert on training dogs with behaviors such as Lucy's. We were not at all familiar with over reactive dogs but Lisa right away upon introduction was able to assess and offer positive guidance on how we can help Lucy. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and experienced but she has a calm manner that is very reassuring. Almost immediately with her specialized help we noticed improvement in certain areas. We like the individual attention and appreciate the small class size. The lessons are broken down into a manageable size and not overwhelming. Also the training booklet includes lots of tips and examples and has been very helpful to use at home while working with Lucy. Lisa is not only wonderful with dogs but with pet parents too! My husband and I both feel that her positive feed back and support in developing a long range plan have helped us understand the steps we need to take for the best outcome. We like that Lisa can see possibilities and sees the good qualities in Lucy just as we do. We don't dread taking Lucy to class but now look forward to it and so does Lucy! We definitely would recommend Northern Tails Dog Training and Lisa Lucas. Our Lucy is a work in progress we know but those few classes with Lisa have already made a world of difference in our lives with Lucy. Thank you Lisa!

I am writing this review to document my personal experience so other pet owners can make an…read moreinformed decision. My dog, Koa, was boarded at this facility on two occasions: July 3-5 and July 10-14. I cannot determine during which stay he became ill. When I picked him up on July 14, he was noticeably lethargic and not acting like himself. Later that evening, his condition declined rapidly. He became disoriented, was unable to stand to go outside, and his temperature measured 106°F. He was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic and admitted immediately. Over the next several days, Koa's condition was described as critical. His white blood cell count was dangerously low, he continued to spike high fevers despite continuous fluids and cooling measures, and he required round-the-clock hospitalization. Multiple veterinary teams repeatedly prepared me for the possibility that he might not survive. I was told more than once that his prognosis was very guarded and that we needed to be prepared for the worst. He underwent extensive diagnostic testing, including imaging and a bone marrow biopsy, and ultimately required transfer to Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital for ICU-level and internal medicine care. He remained hospitalized for nearly a week. The drive to WSU was approximately an hour and a half each way, and I traveled whenever possible just to see him during limited visiting hours, not knowing if each visit might be my last. Despite exhaustive testing, no definitive source of illness was identified. Koa ultimately survived due to aggressive medical intervention, including prolonged steroid therapy and the advanced care provided by the critical care and internal medicine teams at Washington State University. His total medical expenses exceeded $12,000. The owner of the boarding facility was contacted on the morning of July 15 by my boyfriend to inform her of the situation and to ask whether any other dogs had been ill during that timeframe, as this information could have assisted with veterinary diagnostics. Although I am the legal owner of the dog and the individual listed on all veterinary and boarding paperwork, the facility owner never contacted me directly by phone or email. I would have expected direct communication with the registered owner during a medical emergency of this severity. To this day, she has never reached out to me personally. Koa survived, but his recovery was long and difficult. He required months of steroid therapy with significant side effects, including excessive thirst, increased urination, and loss of bladder control--none of which he had experienced previously. Initial attempts to taper him off steroids resulted in serious complications requiring further medical intervention. He ultimately required additional long-term medication and ongoing veterinary monitoring. The emotional distress of nearly losing a family member after trusting a facility to care for him is something I would not wish on anyone. Beyond the medical crisis itself, the lack of direct communication with me as the registered owner was particularly difficult. I am not making claims of legal fault or causation. I am sharing my experience. Pets are family, and facilities entrusted with their care carry a significant responsibility. I strongly encourage anyone considering boarding here to ask detailed questions about illness monitoring, emergency response procedures, and communication expectations. I sincerely hope others take the time to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this boarding facility.
