    Burnt Wellington

Dining at Savoy Grill by Gordon Ramsay was overall a very enjoyable experience. The service, atmosphere, and nearly every dish we ordered were excellent. Unfortunately, the Beef Wellington -- the restaurant's signature dish -- did not live up to expectations. It arrived dry, overcooked, and noticeably burned in parts. For a dish so heavily associated with the restaurant and Chef Ramsay himself, it was disappointing and fell short of the standard one would anticipate. That said, everything else throughout the meal was well executed and enjoyable, which made the issue with the Wellington stand out even more.

If you want an upscale lunch with amazing service then do not hesitate to book this place I had a red letter voucher to use here and it was for the 3 course lunch Every dish was delicious and presented beautifully The service is unmatched and British dining at its finest The sea bream was top notch!! Finally tried Gordon Ramsays beef Wellington!

Wow! Just entering this iconic hotel is a moment!!! We had a great experience! I did try the beef Wellington which isn't my thing, but was told that was the move. I thought it was just ok and wish I had went with my gut and ordered a different dish. That aside, everyone was nice and the ambiance can't be beat! It's right near the theatre district as well!

First time getting beef wellington this did not disappoint. Really nice mushroom flavour and very tasty sides. Mine felt a little more medium than it was medium rare but I didn't mind too much.

Lived up to the hype! We went for our 25th anniversary dinner after Les Mis matinee and it did not disappoint. The service was outstanding and we felt extremely well taken care of throughout the meal by the entire team. After starting with delicious cocktails, I had the Beef Wellington, which was superb, and my husband had the Cornish Hen, which melted in your mouth. We also ordered a side of potato puree, which was perfectly prepared. The meal paired well with the bottle of Italian Pinot Noir recommended by our wine steward. We had the dessert of the day which was delicious and was combined with complimentary truffles and tarts for our anniversary. The ambience was beautiful, refined and had a buzz of excitement without being too loud. Very enjoyable and perfect for a special occasion. Would definitely return.

Booked the reservation on OpenTable and they listed the latest reservation at 9:30pm BST, and I took it. After coming and being told to remove my hat (which caught me off guard) I see many other guests coming in after 10pm BST. Asked the front hostess if they recently changed their hours? She said they are open until midnight and take reservations until 11pm BST. Weird, cause my brain was on Cali time and I really wanted a later reservation and OpenTable must have had a glitch at the time of booking. Enough complaining and let's talk about the awesome food! First comes out the hot out of the oven sourdough bread & butter mixed with Vegemite, and I really dislike the Vegemite spread by itself and this was actually quite amazing! Ordered the Gazpacho which they made it with tomatoes and watermelon whereas most restaurants make it traditionally with just tomatoes, garlic, bell peppers, and cucumbers, onions and olive oil. Glad they made it the way I love. Also ordered the smoke haddock soufflé, and that was also amazing. They said their signature dish was the Beef Wellington, which I have had so many times and from so many places and wanted to see what was so special about this place. Out of everything I ordered this was least favored. It was decent but I definitely had better. The sides mashed potatoes and barbecue hispi cabbage were both great tasting and to end the meal went with the sticky toffee pudding and when the check came they had 2 freshly baked madeleine's and left with a smile. For sure will come back when in London as I really enjoyed my meal.

The Savoy Grill in London is dining perfection with a dash of history and a side of Gordon Ramsay magic! Sitting at Sir Winston Churchill's table felt like we were part of history--if history came with incredible food. The star of the show? Chef Ramsay's legendary Beef Wellington, which was so perfectly cooked it should get its own knighthood. The service was impeccable, the ambiance timelessly elegant, and the whole experience a blend of luxury and fun. Churchill would have approved (probably with a cigar in hand). Pricey? Sure. But hey, dining like a legend doesn't come cheap! Thank you Thierry and the team for a wonderful time. I'll be back for more!

Twice in one year - I'm a lucky girl! The soufflé and beef Wellington were outstanding. I cannot find fault of any kind at this stunning restaurant. From the sommelier's recommendations, to the perfect service, this place is ridiculously amazing.

The menu and experience was wonderful. Skip the cocktails- not impressed. The wine selection is incredible.

Great experience. I will be back. Food was amazing. Skip the cocktails- very small and not impressive. wine selection was amazing. Service was wonderful

We couldn't miss the chance to visit one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants and chose Savoy Grill and we're so glad we did! We had a romantic dinner with beautiful piano music in the background. The service was top-notch and the food was just outstanding. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

Among celebrity chefs, Gordon Ramsey is one of the most famous, although often criticized for his more demeaning interactions in the kitchen that have made way for more collaborative ways of communication nowadays Having never been to any of his restaurants, where better to try than in London, home to Savoy Grill, one of his very first and one that received a Michelin star We hit all the classics from his savory soufflé to his signature Beef Wellington and Pomme Purée While everything is delicious and drinks flowed, at the very high price point, I honestly thought service, while polite, could have been more on-point and proactive from providing menus to taking orders to bringing the bill Steak Tartare £24 / Arnold Bennett Soufflé £22 / Ribeye £62 / Beef Wellington £65 / Ponme Purée £8.50 / Green Beans £8.50 / Dessert Souffe £18 Savoy Grill (London, UK) Dining is indoor only and all credit cards are accepted.

The basement has a bar, lounge and restaurant. It was a little noisy. But we could still talk. The roasted scallops were cooked perfectly. The green sauce was tasty. I love the presentation. The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

Minced Beef & Onion: The most popular, apparently. Smooth and moist inside with a buttery flaky outside. Chicken & Mushroom: A nice variation from beef, but by no means lesser. With it's large chunks and umami gravy, this was like a quick hit fix for when craving a proper chicken pot pie. Mash & Gravy: The mash was smooth and buttery. The gravy was more than plentiful. Kinda lives under the shadow of the delicious pies though. Sticky Toffee Pudding: Good, but not great. The toffee sauce felt a bit too thick and wasn't as warmed as I like it. The sponge cake was alright, but kinda dry, like they just plopped into the toffee sauce puddle. Got the gravy on the side, didn't think I'd use all of it, before I knew it, it was all gone. I will be mixing mustard into my mashed potatoes from now on. Originally came for the sticky toffee pudding, so of course we ended with that. Marvelous! The toffee sauce is so comforting and rich, the cake was so moist, and it was perfectly balanced with the ice cream. Didn't detect any dates, maybe they were too finely chopped. Also the apple and blackberry crumble just didn't hit the same; it was slightly dry and on the sour side (maybe don't take a bite directly after the pudding!) Service was so helpful and friendly; I'm sure they love watching people fall in love with their food. Quick with refills and offered extra condiments if needed.
