Now, here is where the rating was impacted! I asked what type of fish it was before making a selection. The staff responded. "Catfish." Coo! Ultimately, it was NOT catfish. I would attribute the texture and how it fried to being along the lines of a Swai or similar fish. The only thing that saved it was the light cornmeal batter, which was good. Not much seasoning, so hot sauce was needed. Sides: Collard greens - good (per my hubs) Macaroni and cheese - standard/good (per my hubs) Deviled eggs - good Broccoli cheese casserole - PASS (there was some sort of brown crumble between the layer of cheese and the actual casserole and it was not needed and wasn't good! Hard, but honest opinion. Also, there were large mushrooms in the casserole (no, it wasn't from a mushroom soup), so beware if you're not a mushroom eater -- I don't mind. Mashed potatoes - good and creamy (Baby girl did no gravy, so we have no thoughts on that!) Fried okra - good (my fav of the sides for the day). We came before 11:30 AM and that proved to be ideal. By the time we left (12:15), it was packed tighter than a can of sardines! Ambiance -- ehhh. It's typical cafeteria vibes. No music. Basic decor.

On my last day in town, October 4, 2026, my family and I wanted to find a special restaurant for breakfast before heading to the airport. We came across The Breakfast Boys and decided to give them a try. When we arrived, there was a line out the door, which immediately told me this place must be doing something right. We decided to wait, and I'm glad we did. I didn't get the name of the host, but she was amazing--professional, organized, and did an excellent job getting everyone seated. Even with the crowd, our wait wasn't long. Once inside, I was surprised to see there was an additional dining room downstairs. We were greeted by our server, Nita, who was outstanding. She knew the menu and was able to explain everything in detail without hesitation. Her timing and service were on point. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, we really didn't have to ask for anything. As a chef, I naturally pay attention to how a restaurant operates, and what really stood out to me was the teamwork. The entire staff was working like a well-oiled machine. The food came out hot, the service was excellent, and everyone in my party was happy with their meal and experience. Before leaving for the airport, I stopped by the restroom. It was fresh, clean, and well maintained. As I walked out, I also looked toward the kitchen and once again noticed the teamwork among the kitchen staff. Before leaving, I made sure to tell the staff how much we enjoyed everything. The Breakfast Boys--you have something great here. Great food, great service, cleanliness, professionalism, and most importantly, teamwork. Keep up the amazing work. I will definitely visit again when I'm back in Atlanta. you're only as good as your last meal. excellent is aways the key. from the front door to the time your last guest leave. Several neon signs greet you at the entrance of this charming old school Southern restaurant. They don't accept reservations so we gave our name and then chose to wait in the seating area by the hostess stand although we could have waited at the bar area. We were called to our table in about 30 minutes. We were seated at a semicircular booth and our server greeted us right away and gave us menu and got our drink orders. The hardest part is figuring out which entree to get for dinner, as there were many to tempt us such as prime rib and roast turkey, but my friend ended up ordering the Chicken Fried Chicken with Tomato Aspic and Baked Potato and I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with Sautéed Spinach and Whipped Potatoes (each entree comes with a choice of 2 sides and they have many to choose from). It felt like only a few minutes went by and our server was already bringing us each a bread plate with a cornbread muffin and a biscuit, plus my friend's Tomato Aspic. I had already told my friend I wanted to try the aspic but I wanted her to try it first. She said it was great and tasted like cocktail sauce with pieces of celery inside. I took a bit of Mayo on my fork, like she did, and then slide into the aspic to grab a bite. It wasn't bad! In fact, I took a few bites more. It tasted like a cocktail sauce/ketchup combo, in gelatin mold form. Our main dishes also came out really quickly and they were huge! My $24 fried chicken was an entire half chicken with a wing, a drumstick, and a giant thigh and breast. It was really crispy and tasted delicious. The spinach was nice, too, with pieces of garlic and the potatoes were yummy as well. I only finished the breast piece and took the rest home. My friend also took home half her meal and we saw that pretty much everyone was bringing home leftovers. This was a great meal and a great value as well.

RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.
