Everyone raves about this place however, I am not a fan. To be fair, the Honey scored a brand new Singer clothing press from here last year. He was fortunate. Every time I've been here, not so much. Went to this one a few times. Never has been great. No cashiers. Not real registers. The one guy that had there was rude. Selection wasn't all that much. Small little place filled with junk. That force you to use your pin # now where other times. Was able to by pass the pin and use credit. read more

I love shopping at Savers (the ones in Medford, Commack and Islip are my go tos) and wanted to check this location out for a while. Whole I found the store clean and organized, I found the staff to be more interested in socializing among themselves at the empty registers instead of offering help at the jewelry counter. It took forever for me to be helped, I eventually had to go interrupt their conversation so I could see something from the counter. But no one rushed to help. I still stood around waiting for help before actually being helped. It was absolutely ridiculous how long I had to wait to be helped. I've never had a negative experience at a Savers location before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. Do better Savers! read more

Unfortunately you have to check yourself out. I spent over $230 and had a donation coupon of 20% off and another coupon on the same paper handed to me for donating of $2 off if I took a survey. I checked myself out and scanned the 20% off coupon, inserted the coupon in the slot and then scanned the $2 off coupon. Well, unbeknownst to me it only takes one coupon. The machine didn't give me an error message, didn't ask if I wanted to change coupons just accepted the coupon. Then the machine asked if I wanted a reward and I took it. Here I thought I had a great discount instead I got $2 off. Shame on me for not checking my own work, shame on me for not knowing the store policy. At this point I should have been given an employee discount, I bought a lot of stuff and the 2 employees chatting it up gossiping about a problem customer who came In and was screaming don't touch me and told the manager he had a small $&@k. They didn't offer to help. So the next day I was looking at my receipt and realized my error. I called the store, I was pleasant, explained the issue and the lady said I could only use the one coupon and when I said there wasn't an error message or a sign explaining that she just handed the phone over to Chris. (Rude, no goodbyes?) Chris the RSM (that means manager he explained when I asked what that stood for, again, I'm not an employee!) told me that only one coupon is accepted. He cannot help me. He cannot give me another 20% off coupon. There is nothing he can do. He explained that sometimes they accept two coupons, just not this one. OK, thanks for nothing. No apology, no empathy or understanding. When I told him I donate often and shop often but won't be back if he can't help me in anyway he said OK. So, ok, bye Savers. We hadn't been to Savers for several years, mostly shopped at the Medford store (and dined at Ruby Tuesday's) and were excited to shop the new Centereach store. Much to our surprise and disappointment, their prices were outrageous. We really hadn't shopped for clothes for a long time, but just recently we had done much better at Ocean State Job Lot and on Marshall's Clearance racks. My wife and I have lost a lot of weight, not cruising or dining out much since the pandemic, about 25 and 60 pounds, respectively, back to our weights when we met in high school. Going forward, I think we'll be donating a lot more clothing to, rather than buying from, Savers. read more

Either the Savers chain has been bought by a hedge fund, looking to make a quick buck before the market collapses, or they have joined every other retailer and are looking to gouge whatever they can get from struggling American consumers...the pricing on so many items, especially books, is out of control...why are you selling regular hardcover books, that someone has donated to you, for $6-$10? just insane levels of greed...go down the street at Island Thrift , and you can buy the same hardcover book for $4, or $2 if it's color is half off...The average person, who is struggling to make ends meet, needs to start boycotting these ridiculous prices read more

Depending on the day, I can find really great deals and sometimes some are new. However there prices are getting way too high for a supposed thrift store. I found dishes and books( on sale ) in stores where the prices were lower than a store claiming to be "thrift". I've been going to Savers for a long time and it's becoming a bit disappointing. read more

Very disappointing grand opening. If I am rifling through junk, dirt, and trash you are not getting antique store prices. And I mean trash... there was an old pickle jar for sale. Employees are paranoid and nasty discussing customers potentially ripping off tags very loudly in a crowded area! I wouldn't take 90% of their merchandise even if it was free, that's how bad it was! I was so looking forward to going to the new Savers but it is so disappointing. I have gone twice because I couldn't believe how I felt about it after my first visit. It is very expensive for a thrift store and I found the floor plan to be weird and confusing to navigate. Overall the atmosphere is off-putting. Can't quite explain why; I love the Holbrook store as well as Medford, but this one leaves you feeling like you just don't want to go back.truly disappointing. read more

I called SAVERS in Centeteach to find out what time they close on New Years. The phone rang for a long time, and then a woman answered, "hello Domino's "!!! I said I must have a wrong number, but when I checked it was the right number for SAVERS. I guess the person didn't want to work. It took several calls to finally get someone to pick up and when they did they gave false information. That sucks!! read more
