This Savers is much smaller than the Carlisle location. The layout is also much less logical. The biggest struggle here is the fact that they do not put up signs stating the daily color tag that is on sale so it's almost like it is a mystery that you have to beg for clues to solve. I have found some cool things here but the prices haven't been great. I found a canvas decoration that I liked for $29.99. However, it did have some damage on it. When I purchased it, I was finally able to handle it because previously the employee had gotten it down off the high shelf and carried it to the register. After I had purchased it, I found the original price tag on the back from Ross for $22.00 BEFORE the slight water damage. So I definitely will admit I got taken for a ride there but at least it went to charity. read more

Savers used to be my most favorite thrift store. I shopped at both east and west side stores, finding great clothes about 4x/year or more. Once the "pandemic" came, they got rid of their changing rooms and I won't shop for clothes where I cannot try anything on. This means you have to buy something you think you want then take it home to try on. If it doesn't work, you can bring it back within a week (for an exchange only I believe). Not a customer friendly policy, and it doesn't seem to have affected their business. The few times I have gone in (for shoes or a household item), the clothing aisles were bustling. They pay nothing for the items they sell, it's all donated, but they mark items at some outrageous prices. They ruin the shoes at the Carlisle location using a red grease pencil on the insole and on the sides of the shoe which ruins them, the other location doesn't do this. They have some parts of the store that are filthy, just walking around your feet get dirty if you have sandals your feet turn black. Some of the managers are not nice to deal with, they are not accommodating in any way, they try to sell things that don't match as a set and if you bring it to the attention of it to the manager they won't make adjustments or sell the ones that match a take the others back. I've seen the people that put the clothes out walk around dragging the clothing on the floor, they just don't care, nor are they friendly either, it you ask them a question they look at you like why are you talking to me, are they told not to speak to customers? Prices are too high, they hang their pants in a stupid way imo, no dressing rooms and over-rated.

They no longer allow you to try on clothes. Which is ridiculous because they are used clothes anyway, it's not like they wash them or allow you to go home and wash them before you try them. They do not give you a refund and only give you a shirt window to return so if you don't find your fit then you are out of luck, clothes and money. It's a scam. There is absolutely no reason to not allow you to try in clothes. The dressing room is more sanitary than a bathroom and they still have those...scam! read more

I've been shopping at this store for years and always liked it, but lately things have gone downhill, policy- wise. The staff is still great, very helpful and knowledgeable. But first they closed the dressing rooms, then they stopped doing returns! Exchanges only. Not being able to try something on, knowing you can't return it, puts a huge damper on future shopping. Not to mention they won't let you stack coupons, and the coupons have very short durations. And I'm absolutely not one of those kids who "because I was forced to wear thrift clothes I only buy brand name new clothes" snobs. I've been to Savers in many states and cities, and I've frequented their sister store Value Village equally as much. I grew up on this crap. Therefore, I live and breathe thrifting, wheeling & dealing and bargains....but I guess that could be my Mexican-Lebanese heritage. I don't find the "digging" people say they don't have time for as an inconvenience. It comes naturally. You spend 2 hours in the mall, I spend 2 hours in Savers. Monday is 99 cent day, Wednesday-Friday is certain color tags 50% off and there is a senior discount. Donate and get 20% off everything. Anyhow, this Savers is in a very nice location. It is well maintained, has nice store workers and has an excellent drive around donation area. It's not as nice as the new store on Menaul, but it's better than a lot of other stores. I agree sometimes I wonder what these guys are thinking, I could often buy the same item for less elsewhere. That's why I have a method to my madness, I buy high end clothes, I know that a label that says "Xhiliration" or "High Sierra" or "Merona" is of the Target/Walmart/Kmart persuasion, so why should I buy that shirt for $7.99 when it's low quality and I could buy it at said big chain store for that price new? No, my mama taught me, go for the Banana Republic, BCBG, Seven, Ann Taylor, etc brands. What? $9.99 for a $99 skirt, yes I'll take that, oh and I'll use my 20% coupon. Blam! Take that clothes snob! New BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES will cause loss of donations and shoppers. I've visited Savers since I moved back to Albq 7 years ago. It is bright, nicely merchandised, and for the most part, reasonably priced. As much as I shop at Savers--I donate to the facilities even more. I work at a laundry where it is common for our customers to leave items specifically because they know appropriate items will be forwarded to good causes. Recently I donated 3 large bags of items and was rewarded with a 20% off coupon. When asked why only 20% off instead of the 30% off I was told that was the new policy. I was also told the 30% off coupons I possesed were NO LONGER HONORED!! I find this unacceptable. In good faith, I donated items and earned each of my existing 7 or 8 coupons for 30% off. Now, because they choose to give 20% off vs. the 30% off, I cannot use my rewards. I find this to be not only a bad business practice but DISHONEST and GREEDY. Shame on you!! Whats next? Charging your gifters a fee to donate so you maximize on your profits? read more

None of the clothes are in the style none of them are what a young person would wear you accept all clothes, even bathing suits and I don't see anything in good condition.. it's like you don't even care about who's shopping or what they are shopping for. This is probably the most well laid out thrift store i've been to. I love the mixed assortment of random stuff grab bags on the left hand side of the store, as well as the healthy assortment of ceramic tchotchke. My one gripe with this place would be that stuff wasn't quite as inexpensive as I had hoped for. For instance: I'm a big fan of thrift store tshirts, a staple of my wardrobe, which here seemed to price consistently at $5-$7. I only buy for around $1-$3, consequently i left empty handed. From what i can tell that extra effort in organizing the store seemed to add approx 3-4 more dollars onto items than i was willing to pay. But that may be just me. Huge thrift store offering most everything. I love the book section. I've bought a ton of children's books in great condition for a low, low price. The misc wall section has bagged art suppiies that would cost 5x in a craft stores. Lots of household products, some games/puzzles for kids, and office items. Lots of seasonal items: Halloween and Christmas, some thrift and some new. I haven't found much in the clothing area, because there are racks and racks, and you really have to dig to find a gem here. A lot of the clothes are unremarkable and not in great shape. Staff is friendly. Parking is unlimited. Later hours too. read more

I'm lucky enough to live close to this wonderful thrift store, so I go there about once or twice a week. I've found lots of great vintage clothing finds--a 1970s Oscar de la Renta blazer, a 1930s black velvet evening coat, the list goes on. They also have household goods and I've picked up a few pieces of art work, including Manet and Picasso prints. Savers is definitely the place for treasure seekers but you will have to hunt--but isn't that part of the fun? read more

A woman's blouse for $12 and often more? And don't even look at the kitchen things...ridiculously priced. The other Savers is a much better deal, although you can plan on getting panhandled in the parking lot. I would rather gouge my eyes out with red hot pokers than deal with the incompetent people at this store again. We purchased a bed frame on the word of an employee who said it was queen sized. We were never told that this employee was just "guessing" it was a queen nor that, if it wasn't indeed a queen, we wouldn't be able to return it, exchange it, or receive store credit. The manager, Kim, was unresponsive for the first five minutes we stood in front of the register in hope of assistance. Once we were addressed, she was unsympathetic, unyielding, and rude. We told her that we never would have bought the frame had we known the employee was just "guessing" it's size, especially in light of the return policy of which she had only just informed us. Kim didn't care that we were being screwed 3 days before Christmas. She felt it was more important to stick to ridiculous rules than to keep customers, even when the fix was as simple as exchanging the king sized frame we were given for a queen sized frame we were promised. Needless to say, we will never donate nor purchase another item from this business. Bravo, Savers, and merry freaking Christmas. read more
