I had a great experience here today. Welcome to Southbury! The space they've created is so original and inviting, I especially loved the openness and window views. The stations are spacious and have a lot of counter space so I don't feel like I'm on top of another client. Alex was clearly very knowledgeable about her craft and knew the right shape and length for my face. From someone who has tried many salons due to my husbands job, I can say this one has staying power. I especially enjoyed the blow dry at the end which is not included at every salon in the town. Fair price and excellent service! They have been at a different location and moved from a smaller space in Newtown, so they are all experienced stylists. They even have a full barber service. Since my hairdresser recently relocated I was looking for a new one. I saw Anthony as well and it is truly the best cut I've ever had! I spent about 15 years working in the salon industry so that's saying something. Not only was it a great experience, my hair looks fantastic straight and curly. She took time to understand what I wanted and explain differences between partial and full foil and all my other hair related questions. She was conscientious of my budget and considerate of my low-maintenance habits. She didn't judge my quarantine self-cut (lol) and was very attentive to me the with every step of the hair process. Why? Hair color and cut were done well but the totally arbitrary way of pricing is scary! From one visit to the next, with the same stylist, prices varied by as much as $35. One visit (always for the same services) would be $95, next would be $110 and then it became $130. I hate to think what comes next. read more
