On the day of our event, the crew arrived, prepared our lunch room and presented and served a fantastic holiday luncheon that was enjoyed by all. The chef and the wait staff were friendly and personable, the meal tasted great and they even brought music and centerpieces to make the lunch room a little more festive. I had been a guest at 2 wedding receptions 2 consecutive weekends in a row. I thought I would wait…read moreuntil the completion of the 2nd reception to see if I was crazy or not. Were we being pushed out of the venue early? And the answer is a RESOUNDING YES! The first reception started at 6:00 PM and I was told that the party will be going until 11:00 PM. IMMEDIATELY after the final guest made it through the buffet line, a surge of staff came from the kitchen asking if plates could be taken back. Some of us hadn't finished half of our food. (I understand that having prompt service is one thing, but this was on a whole different level.) And they kept circling like vultures, picking the table clean, as quickly and inconveniently as possible. Once the plates and silverware were gone a second round of staff showed up taking water glasses and pitchers of water. LITERALLY taking a freshly poured glass of water...and by "freshly poured", I mean that as I was pouring the water, the service staff was walking toward our table. I set the glass on the table and she grabbed it (and the pitcher) and walked away. I was without words. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?! This unapologetic hovering continued until the last piece of service (glasses, forks, knives, plates, napkins, etc.) was gone. And just when you thought they couldn't make you feel any less welcome, as soon as a table appeared to be "empty", they started taking the table runners, table cloths and chair scarves off, meanwhile dismantling the centerpieces in the process. By 10:15 (and that is generous saying 10:15) at least 50% of the tables were completely cleared, wiped and vacant of any evidence that a party was taking place and they had successfully pushed nearly EVERYONE out! And this EXACT SAME SCENARIO happened 2 weeks in a row. That can't be an accident! So, if we break this down into simple terms...the average wedding in Omaha costs about $25000. At 6 hours spent with your guests on your special day that equals $4166.66 PER HOUR (and saying you get a full, QUALITY 6 hours at A View on State Street is a stretch to say the least!)! At over 4 grand per hour, the last thing I would want is for my guests to feel unwelcome at any point during that 6 hours. Yes, it's a dance keeping your staff happy, being able to ensure everyone has a good time, meanwhile trying to get everyone out at a reasonable hour, but this is on a while different level of rude. I would highly suggest you review your time lines on clearing tables. Your approach MAY BE to clean the tables so guests don't have a mess to deal with but your average guest could care less about a few plates. We want to eat at whatever pace we see fit. To sit and enjoy the company of our companions without constant interruption. To feel like we are ALLOWED to take our time eating and drinking and still know that we have a couple of hours to dance in an environment that STILL FEELS LIKE A PARTY. And maybe, just maybe, have a glass of water to replenish our system after a dance or two. (Yes, I saw the crappy plastic water cups you have available by the bar...did I mention $4166.66 per hour?) Yea, I may represent just one complaint, but I have 2 unmarried twin daughters, who have lots of unmarried friends, and I cannot in good conscience recommend A View on State Street.

I have to say, I've seen a huge improvement in the meals. There are genuinely dishes I look forward to now. I'm recently postpartum, and having fresh, healthy meals ready to go has been incredibly helpful. They're easy to heat up and eat quickly, which honestly makes such a difference during this season of life. While some of the Thai or Indian-inspired meals aren't personally my favorite, almost everything else has been really enjoyable. Before this, I was ordering Factor meals, which were more expensive, often needed extra seasoning or flavor added, and didn't arrive until Tuesday afternoons -- not exactly ideal for setting yourself up for a successful week. This service has felt fresher, more convenient, and overall much more worth it for me.

My order looked good and smelled great, but the chili was only lukewarm. It had a different flavor than your normal chili but was still good just different. It was not hot at all and a little too salty for my taste thus the 3 star rating. I didn't want to ask for it to be reheated, so I ate it as served. The cinnamon roll good with a little bit of crunch. I first started coming here because I love the food at the Café at the Joslyn Museum and learned it's connected to Clean Slate. While I I prefer the museum café's offerings and find the prices there a bit more reasonable, Clean Slate has good food and friendly service. It's a great lunch spot that I still enjoy, even if this particular meal wasn't perfect.

Oh my goodness, this food is SO GOOD. The flavor is on point. Each plate is enough for one person, I'm full and I'm not even finished. The spice level and amount of flavor is comforting. I am now a loyal customer and will be ordering from them more often. Prices for to go plates are good for Haitian food, roughly $13 a plate. Couldn't be happier. Thank you!

Plus, order of wings dripping in garlic parm sauce then dusted with real shredded parm cheese + waffle fries. Both items = Amazeballs!!!! Check facebook for weekly menu and ordering info. Very responsive via facebook messenger, text, and phone. Very accommodating when I asked for corn tortillas instead of flour. Maybe one day they'll open a brick and mortar shop, but until then we will definitely be ordering again via facebook/text because they made it so easy. No one else has been willing to deliver to us because we are right outside of city limits, but they told us "no problem, we'll deliver to you out here." I was a little bit skeptical about ordering from someone via Facebook/text because I've never done that before, but they made it very easy! Delivery fee was fair and on par with other groups. Very nice local folks with great food! I included sample menus to display some of their previous meals. Give them a shot because the food and kindness/service does not disappoint!

I stand by my original rating of 5-stars for Rig - from back in July when I went twice in one day…read more In a subsequent visit - on Blackstone food-truck Sunday - they were unfortunately running very behind and QC was suffering a bit as a result (don't say I did warn you to get there before there was a line). I'm hopeful that they'll get the process streamlined a bit, but for me, good things are worth waiting for. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good enough to visit twice in one day, we had the pleasure of eating all varieties of Rig's waffle sliders for the months of July (before the small but strong menu was updated). And if you've ever been frustrated by trying to locate your favorite mobile food venue, don't fret. This waffle wagon appears to have set up shop permanently in the Blackstone District parking lot in a wonderful symbiotic relationship with Scribtown Brewing and Archetype Coffee. Rig offers 4 total options for sliders. Three what I'll call savory and one sweet. Sliders are $4.50 each, or two for $7.50 (a bit over a 15% discount). I'd recommend getting them all - that's what we did - before we went back later and got more. Interestingly enough, everyone's favorites were different. So Rig has something for everyone. My favorite of this batch was the Ramen, though the Wafelafel came in a close second. Here's the rundown of the July menu we sampled... the waffles themselves are made of batter specifically crafted to compliment the other ingredients. These are truly gourmet creations - not just toppings slapped haphazard on top of a generic griddled batter. Cobb Smoked BBQ Ham: ham-slider w. peach BBQ sauce & pickled okra. This one was surprisingly my least favorite... but only because the others were so darn great. Cobb Smoked BBQ Ham Rig Ramen: slider made of ramen noodles, vinegar slaw, asian-style beef patty & spicy hoisen sauce. I ate two of these. There's ramen in the waffle, for heaven's sake! Rig Ramen Wafelafel: open faced slider made of house falafel - topped w. hummus, red pepper, compote and dill cucumber sauce. This was a VERY close runner-up favorite. You can't really tell because of all the deliciousness piled on top, but the waffle is green from the cilantro-chickpea batter. Genius! Wafelafel Bacon S'more: slider w. graham cracker batter, mallow and chocolate with smoked bacon. Not much else to say here besides YUM. This one seemed to be the real crowd-pleaser of the evening. Bacon S'more Their August menu is already posed and looks to be just as tasty! I can't wait to try all of these as well. (Good business model). Rig does not have a website, but they are very active on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/rigomaha, where weekly hours, menu updates, and delicious waffle pictures are routinely posted. You can eat your sliders in either Archetype or Scribtown. And Jodi (the owner) may even hand-deliver waffles to you - though I imagine that service may go away when Rig soon becomes swamped with business (and it will). Get here now before there's a line.

Went to the food truck event today in Blackstone and Rig was there…read more The line was VERY long, my friend ordered a smores waffle which took about 45 or so minutes to get. I am basing my review off of what she got and the 1 bite I had. It wasn't great. The waffle part was kind bland, which would have been okay if they had more toppings inside of it. The chocolate sauce (nutella?) barely covered anything, same with the marshmallow. It needed more for sure. The bacon was well cooked. It could have been so much more, and they really need to work on their cooking times. I do understand this was a busy event, but even so, for a tiny $5 waffle you'd think it would have gone faster.
