They catered my grandparents' wedding, my sister's wedding, and now ours, and they absolutely lived up to that legacy. The food was outstanding, with countless compliments from our guests. Everything from the chicken parmesan and vegetable lasagna to the tortellini and vegetables was hot, fresh, and delicious. The serving staff was professional, friendly, and efficient during the meal. Being someone who loves to cook, I would have rather died than serve dry chicken breast, instant mashed potatoes and canned green beans at my wedding. At the same time, being a bride on a budget doesn't give you a lot of options. I came across Catering Creations when I was at my wits end with caterers and am so, so grateful that I found them. First of all, the food in general, is amazing. They have so many options for the sides and main courses. If you are looking for a standard buffet, the cheapest buffet pricing comes with a gourmet salad (nuts, cranberries, feta cheese, real lettuce, etc), fresh fruit ,which looks so pretty on the table and rolls with butter. Already, that is much more bang for the buck than other caterers I considered. It's an even better deal because everything is fresh. On top of that, Catering Creations catered my event in Lincoln, and they were STILL cheaper than other caterers in Lincoln and Omaha...oh, AND they placed my china order for me, and picked up/dropped off all china rental items for me, for free, like it was no problem whatsoever. In addition to them being so accommodating, the staff just really went above and beyond during the wedding. They were so kind to all of the guests, they assisted the wedding coordinators at the event move tables, and waited a good amount of time to start taking plates from guests. Many guests told me for weeks after that it was the best meal they had ever had at a wedding. I can't agree more. I stuffed myself silly, and that was difficult to do as the bride! There really isn't anything more gratifying than sitting at the head table and watching people hoof it back to the buffet for a second heaping plate of food. I'm hopeful that they'll get the process streamlined a bit, but for me, good things are worth waiting for. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good enough to visit twice in one day, we had the pleasure of eating all varieties of Rig's waffle sliders for the months of July (before the small but strong menu was updated). And if you've ever been frustrated by trying to locate your favorite mobile food venue, don't fret. This waffle wagon appears to have set up shop permanently in the Blackstone District parking lot in a wonderful symbiotic relationship with Scribtown Brewing and Archetype Coffee. Rig offers 4 total options for sliders. Three what I'll call savory and one sweet. Sliders are $4.50 each, or two for $7.50 (a bit over a 15% discount). I'd recommend getting them all - that's what we did - before we went back later and got more. Interestingly enough, everyone's favorites were different. So Rig has something for everyone. My favorite of this batch was the Ramen, though the Wafelafel came in a close second. Here's the rundown of the July menu we sampled... the waffles themselves are made of batter specifically crafted to compliment the other ingredients. These are truly gourmet creations - not just toppings slapped haphazard on top of a generic griddled batter. Cobb Smoked BBQ Ham: ham-slider w. peach BBQ sauce & pickled okra. This one was surprisingly my least favorite... but only because the others were so darn great. Cobb Smoked BBQ Ham Rig Ramen: slider made of ramen noodles, vinegar slaw, asian-style beef patty & spicy hoisen sauce. I ate two of these. There's ramen in the waffle, for heaven's sake! Rig Ramen Wafelafel: open faced slider made of house falafel - topped w. hummus, red pepper, compote and dill cucumber sauce. This was a VERY close runner-up favorite. You can't really tell because of all the deliciousness piled on top, but the waffle is green from the cilantro-chickpea batter. Genius! Wafelafel Bacon S'more: slider w. graham cracker batter, mallow and chocolate with smoked bacon. Not much else to say here besides YUM. This one seemed to be the real crowd-pleaser of the evening. Bacon S'more Their August menu is already posed and looks to be just as tasty! I can't wait to try all of these as well. (Good business model). Rig does not have a website, but they are very active on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/rigomaha, where weekly hours, menu updates, and delicious waffle pictures are routinely posted. You can eat your sliders in either Archetype or Scribtown. And Jodi (the owner) may even hand-deliver waffles to you - though I imagine that service may go away when Rig soon becomes swamped with business (and it will). Get here now before there's a line.

I am basing my review off of what she got and the 1 bite I had. It wasn't great. The waffle part was kind bland, which would have been okay if they had more toppings inside of it. The chocolate sauce (nutella?) barely covered anything, same with the marshmallow. It needed more for sure. The bacon was well cooked. It could have been so much more, and they really need to work on their cooking times. I do understand this was a busy event, but even so, for a tiny $5 waffle you'd think it would have gone faster.

I've been a photographer at 2 weddings here over the last year. One had about 80 guests, the other…read morearound 200. I must say they do a great job with backdrops for the head table and first dance. My only note is that the group that was around 200, was still not at capacity and walking around in the room was a total nightmare. I could barely get around as the photographer, and the guests were dealing with the same. The round tables were cramped as well. I would highly suggest less than 150 people in this venue if you want to be able to move at all! Overall though, great experience. Never met anyone besides servers that worked there, no wedding planner or anything, which worked out but would have been good to have a contact person with the venue incase something was needed as the photographer.
