What an amazing gem! Worth the time to visit. It's free!!! Great place for all ages! They even have a parrot that talks! One of my favorite places to bisit!

It's free and fascinating! There's just something about the birds that captures my heart. Save Our Seabirds' mission is to "Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release." Their site includes a dedicated avian hospital (behind the scenes) that cares for sick and injured birds--many harmed by human activity. Along the "birdwalk" (which is open to the public) are large enclosures for about 100 birds who are unable to be released due to a variety of isssues. Staff are friendly and can tell you about the resident birds, such as Fish, the double-crested cormorant who was fed human food as a chick and now lives with rickets that affect his wings and feet. Make sure to visit the exotic birds, such as Gabby, the umbrella cockatoo, who likes to sing "Happy Birthday" and play peek-a-boo. Outside the office, there is a gift shop with lots of fun, bird-centered items.

This is a nonprofit bird rescue. It is located next to the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. Admission is free. Donations encouraged: There are several birds that are in cages that cannot be released on the wild. It's staffed by volunteers that give you information about the birds. There's about 30 species there. Bathrooms located up the stairs. No dogs allowed.

We thought this was a part of the Mote Aquarium exhibit because it sits on the same property. Don't miss this attraction. It is a massive undertaking and well worth your time. Be sure to leave a donation in the drop box. I had a lovely conversation with Gabby and Rocky. These were not humans. If Yelp would allow video, I'd share it.

Wonderful organization caring for all types of wild birds from bald eagles to song birds. Facilities supporting the permanent resident birds are cleaned by a dedicated team on a daily basis. Save Our Seabirds is open to the public to explore free of charge every day of the week. Staff in the hospital are extremely dedicated and knowledgeable. I was so impressed by this group of folks that I volunteer a few times a week!

An injured Cara Cara. Beautiful bird and the first one i've ever seen in person

My son loves all birds, and the volunteers took the time to talk to him. Clean, and well cared for birds.

Great place to view rescued birds and remember how we need to be better stewards of these creatures.

This dog was abandoned and found in a field with her sister when they were just 10 weeks old and Julie took them into her rescue and sprayed and vaccinated them and found forever homes for them. She is healthy and the best dog that I have ever had. I see Julie out at adoption events from time to time and she has always has amazing dogs and cats and does a great job. I totally recommend her rescue.

I think Gianna thinks she is a puppy. Or maybe it is the other way around. If you are looking to adopt, I highly recommend Royal Rescue. Julie has an amazing network of people who foster. That give homeless Mama's and their babies a chance. Gianna's Mom came in as a feral cat. And due to constant love and touch Gianna's foster Mom, Pam McDonald gave to these Mama and her babies changed the outlook of their lives forever. Gianna is the most loving kitten. When she isn't sleeping side by side with Kylo. She falls asleep on our chest and ends up on our neck. Wrapped around like a scarf. She of course came to us completely litter box trained. I apologize this review is so lengthy, but I have actually shortened it. Thank you again Julie and Pam!!! I know the work you do isn't easy and is very time consuming. But so very admirable. You are all a blessing. Love Always, Elaine Gennuso
