Not from Nightmare Nates, but from Humane Society of SRQ.

ZERO STARS. Don't come to this place if you expect to actually adopt a pet.... Remember this if you have small children you bring thinking they'll be able to leave with a snuggly pet. As we entered, a rather large woman stuffing her face with a sandwich barked at us to get in line and wait our turn. So gruff and unwelcoming! Think Monsters Inc. Roz, Seriously. Next, I was accused of having a pet already and was asked for their medical records. It was obvious they profiled people as they came in. We finally got in to see the kitten we were interested in adopting. Abruptly, a very confrontational man came in and said he needed approval from my landlord in order for the adoption. WHAT?? They actually went to the property appraisers site from the address of my adoption application and searched me. My home is in an LLC, so they assumed I was not the owner. That was the last straw for me. I told the man we were leaving. I couldn't believe the audacity of that last assumption/ comment. Just absolutely disgusting behavior by those who are supposed to help find forever homes. I've supported Nate's monetarily in the past through donations and fundraisers, but never, ever again! Horrible! Read all the below reviews and you'll see this happens quite a bit. Do better Nate's! ***update, we found the perfect sweet kitten at the Humane Society of Sarasota, where we were welcomed by kind volunteers and felt appreciated. We took our time and visited with a few kittens, but finally found our forever Poppy. ***

Golden rule of a rescue is taking the dogs back. They don't take their dogs back. This dog "Lilly" was adopted from Nate's as a puppy and brought to Hillsborough county shelter two years later. They refused to take her back and she was euthanized. This is not the first time a dog is at a shelter or getting rehome on the emergency rehoming pages because they refuse to help out the animals. They get new puppies every week but they aren't helping out their former dogs. They have a great facility and a lot of money to back them up, they just don't care.

Lilly died because Nate's wouldn't take her back.

If I could give zero starts I would, no true rescue abandons their dogs. The have the money, they have the space, they have all the resources yet there have been countless dogs in our community that they adopt out and FAIL. Who pays the price? The dogs. Left to be euthanized all alone in a cold shelter.

Great process and what a great cause. Plenty room for the dogs. We got our little boy today. Staff is very kind. Definitely recommend.

Please rescue pets! They love their animals and they're always looking for foster to help the stressed out animals in shelter to decompress.

The adoption fee is a little higher than it is at our local ASPCA but it was well worth it, especially once we saw the facility.

We were searching for a new cat sitter after our second experience with a Rover pet sitter suddenly…read morenot showing up to check on our cats. We are SO fortunate to have found Richard from Catify My Home. It's not that often you hit the jackpot from a Google search, but we did with this one! Our cats Canvas and Ophelia love their uncle Richie! There isn't enough time to write how vastly different, and better, Richard is from your typical app cat sitter. Any previous cat sitter would stop in, scoop the litter box, refill the food, add water, hang out for 10 minutes and then leave. With Richard our cats get so much play hunting time and lots of affection. His drop ins are 90 minutes and this includes ensuring the dry food is full, cleaning the litter box, refilling the water bowls (which he also cleans), and vacuuming around the cat area. It doesn't just end there, he also brings our trash to the curb if he's cat sitting on a trash day, brings in our mail or any packages, vacuums the areas where he's playing with the cats, and I'm sure there's more I'm missing! We used to come back from time away and dread getting home because of the cat duties...cleaning up the scattered litter/food on the floor, washing water bowls, emptying the litter genie, etc. with Richard, all of that is done for us! We simply come back home to the happiest cats. He will send A TON of photos and videos to show updates. He truly loves cats and understands their behavior. He was even able to get our younger cat (who is skittish and typically hides from strangers) to start coming out and playing with him. Also...he is extremely reliable and doesn't treat cat sitting like a side hobby. Previous sitters wouldn't always send updates and a lot of time we would have to check in with them to see if they were still stopping by to check in. With Richard we know our cats will be well cared for. Every time we are away we tell each other how lucky we are to have found him. Catify My Home is simply the best!!

They've tapped my cat's chest to stabilize her until she could get to a higher level of care where they would have a kitty cat cardiologist. They fixed up Maverick after he impaled himself in the backyard, still don't know how. Cocoa is the crazy one, she came in with a slight mouth bleed from chewing a toy that wouldn't stop and they found that she had an autoimmune disease causing her to attack and kill every last platelet she had. We are frequent flyers there because Cocoa needs her platelets checked constantly and her medication dose adjusted and they treat her so well. That dog gets so many cuddles there she actually loves going to get her blood drawn. Its her favorite place! She even got a free toy at yesterday's blood draw!

My puppy had diarrhea overnight, i was going out of town that morning. I collected a stool sample prepared to drop off at this vet. At 8:00 i called to let them know what i planned and was told that instead of running the stool sample to see if she needed antibiotics and then see the puppy, they would not run the stool sample unless they examined the dog. This was a puppy who liked to eat things she found outside. i was going out of town for the day. i was unable to take time for a visit. As it turned out, puppy had no more diarrhea. In the "good old days ", i could drop off a stool specimen, they would check it and see if the animal needed antibiotics. They have lost my business, looking for a new vet!
