Their produce is a bit pricey, but there are many other items I stock up on and it's more peaceful then battling the crowds at the bigger stores.

When I asked whether identification was needed, she said she didn't know and asked me to hold so she could check -- but the call was disconnected instead of placing me on hold. I called back immediately and a different representative answered. She remembered me from this morning and informed me that all I needed was the receipt. When I arrived at 3:56 PM, the return was processed quickly with no issue. I mentioned the phone incident to the cashier, and she apologized and said it could have been multiple people. I want to be honest: I don't usually grocery shop here unless I need something quick, and that's because I've repeatedly experienced attitude and negative energy from some of the female cashiers. My daughter has also noticed this during our visits. Today's interaction was the last straw for me. I've lived in Fresno for three years, and I try to stay to myself, but the microaggressions and unwelcoming treatment I've encountered -- including at this store -- have been discouraging. I no longer feel respected as a customer, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Instead of correcting the order, the employee became argumentative, refused to replace or properly warm the croissant, and repeatedly insisted that it had already been warmed. Since it was quite obviously cold, I opened the croissant and told her that I wasn't going to eat it and she was welcome to feel it herself to verify that it was cold. She declined. I then asked for her name so I could address the situation with management. She refused to provide it. Because she would not identify herself, I informed her that I was going to take a photo so management could identify the employee involved and address the interaction appropriately. The issue isn't simply a cold croissant. Mistakes happen, and I would have been perfectly satisfied if the order had simply been corrected. My concern is the refusal to provide what I ordered, followed by arguing with me about whether the pastry was warm and then refusing to identify herself when I asked to speak with management. I hope management can address this and provide additional customer-service training so that a very minor and easily corrected issue doesn't escalate unnecessarily in the future.
