I bought ALL OF THIS at Save-a-Lot!
    Elizabeth R.

Save a lot is not the kind of store to which you bring a shopping list. You go into save a lot and buy the best of what they have. They always seem to have a few excellent deals on slightly less than perfect produce, they always have cheap and fairly high quality fresh meats (same quality as the local grocery chain), and always have a fair selection of dairy based items. Unfortunately, the majority of the store contains unhealthy pre-packaged stuff, which seems unfair, because they clearly cater to people like me who are short on cash, and we deserve healthy food just like everyone else... But I shall not get on that soap box for the time being. In summary, I'm never disappointed with my careful purchases from save a lot, and I would recommend them highly to other careful shoppers.

Ok not bad, not bad at all. My 1st time shopping at save a lot, I took my time, checking everything out & I used my Walmart savings catcher app to ensure I was getting good prices there compared to Walmart & I found a mix on that. Some things are cheaper at Walmart but some things cheaper at save a lot. I like that it's convenient to where I lunch at every week ( soulard). I found the eggs & meats reasonable & even though you have to pay .11cents for bags, just reuse them on next visit or just bring your own . Checker was nice enough. I'd def stop in again if I didn't need lots or feel like driving 20 minutes to Walmart .

It's from last year's Easter party. Seemed like a happy image for my neighbor

This is a Goodwill outlet (or sometimes called Bins), but basically a further discounted Goodwill…read more I posted the price chart (see photo). Plenty of parking. This place was huge with many bins filled with all kinds of things. You need some time to go through everything. I'm not experienced but there are professional searchers there so I just stand next to them and watch them go through it and if there is something that I like then I will take it if they don't. I got a cool Spider-Man/Venom shirt for about 50 cents. There are many good deals but you will need some time.

I think that's why the Goodwill Outlet exists. Staff don't label or stage or toss broken stuff. They leave it for this crowd. I saw broken items and intact items. I saw dirty items. I needed a shower by 5 minutes in and I stayed a good 30. I almost bought a few wooden hangers for a friend, but it turned out she didn't need them, so I left them behind. Someone else's treasure. I didn't visit the clothing area because I doubt I'd wear anything that came from this Goodwill Outlet, though I'm sure there are some gems. Goodwill Outlet is a scrapper's paradise. Not just a reseller's... I mean a metal scrapper's. Someone filled a cart with all kinds of metal goods. I didn't check prices, but the last time I checked, most things were by the pound. Tip 1: Get there early or you'll be waiting around for parking. Tip 2: "Early" may also apply to the afternoon, as the hours online suggest they close for 2 hours for lunch.

(Reason for my 3 stars) I actually anticipated eating there again due to my initial visit and was excited to see them open on my way home. However, this visit was total opposite. I was the only customer and the young man's attitude was Very UNwelcoming, as if he were frustrated someone had entered. I thought twice about leaving and not placing an order, but I kept thinking of my first visit and wanted to patronize the restaurant. My gut instinct was correct. He reheated the barbeque, it was tough and very dry (couldn't consume). His attitude was so lackluster and disappointing, I decided to call dinner a loss this time because there is no way I would trust him to correct the issue. If I ever stop there again and he's serving; it's a BIG No for me. So thankful he wasn't my first impression of Ranell's. To that individual...Please keep in mind that you are the face of that owner's business and when it's in your hands, you are representing Ranell's brand. The way you treat customers can make or break the establishment and you never know who you're serving or why they are there. Something to ponder.

I tried the bbq polish, potato salad, cheeseburger, fries and spaghetti. The spaghetti I think some will like and some won't. As someone who adds a little sugar to their home cooked spaghetti, I found this one to be a bit too sweet. I really liked the potato salad, it was creamy, enough sweetness and fresh. The side items were well portioned. I appreciate that they read the comments in the order and called us when they didn't have the particular drink we requested. It's one of those places you just have to try for yourself.

They sell Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, and goods from other Asian countries. I've recently found fresh and dry Asian noodles at the store for a cheap price, which cost 2-3x more money in other chain supermarkets like Walmart and Target, HUGE plus for World Market. What really took me off guard and surprised me was that they also make fresh and sell various boba tea and bubble waffles with and without ice cream.

Crying in HMart? Impossible in STL given that there isn't one here (@HMart I am begging you to open…read morehere), but World Market or Cho Quoc Te is a close alternative. Vietnamese/Asian supermarkets are very nostalgic to me from being the number one childhood activity with my mother, and World Market did not disappoint. Every bit of it screamed home to me, from the lingering smell of raw fish and plethora of seasonings to the 7356495 brands for the same jarred goods to the overfilled carts of every mom's meal prep for a family of 4+ for an entire week. The grocery store itself is about smaller to medium-sized and produce seemed okay. What was really fantastic about it was that it had a lot of other businesses incorporated inside of it -- a pharmacy, to-go food on the ready, a dessert bar, etc. I especially loved the premade meals, and they had great variety. Some notable mentions from picking up an assortment of things -- the pandan soymilk was solid; the che khoai mon (taro pudding) was good; the che banh lot (pandan and coconut milk starch pudding) was also good, and I appreciated that it was just banh lot with no extra accouterments; the pate chaud was surprisingly really good (not too peppery or salty, just perfectly buttery and flakey with the right amount of flavor). In addition to not having to hit triple digits for a small grocery run (which seems to be the case everywhere else), it was really nice having so many things available. I'll definitely be back here more often to try more of their premade dishes and for the serotonin.
