I came here for a bee tour and it was incredible. Bill was super knowledgeable about all things bees and honey. I learned a ton about bee behavior and about how flavored honeys are created. We got to tour the bee garden in the back and actually hood an active honey comb with bees building on it. It was a great hour long tour and you can taste honey in the shop. There is an option for a mead tasting afterwards if that is your style. This is a great activity to do with kids or if you are a big bee fan! read more

I'm visiting from Ohio and this was one of my stops. This shop was my favorite by far! A large variety of honey/bee related made products including lotions, chapsticks, hot honey, and drink ware. I stopped in with the family for a tour of the apiary. The tour and education were fantastic! Jessica was phenomenal. The store is awesome with the numerous types of honey and mead, but you have to do the tour for the educational experience. Additionally, pay the extra for the mead tasting. The different meads vary wildly in taste and are very good. We ended up buying five different bottles of mead and three different honeys. A must visit. Finally, thanks to Kevin, a fellow brewery, who gave me some great advise as to how to ferment my own mead. Will be trying that soon! read more

My friend and I took their "total bee experience" tour while on a trip to Savannah. We were greeted when we entered the shop and soon found out that we were the only people on the tour. Our first guide used an inside beehive to give us some background on beekeeping and bees in general. She then took us outside too see the teaching hives that they have set up. She was super sweet and informative, you could really feel how much she loved the bees. Once inside we were given to our second guide who gave us a tasting of several different mead offerings. She too was super informative and sweet. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Savannah. read more

The tour and talk about the bees was so informative and interesting. Gave us a deep understanding of the 's, bee keepers and honey. We got to put on the bee keeper bonnets and go outside to their resident hives. Bees were just buzzing around the hives but not bothering humans. You also get to taste several honey's for free. Well worth the time (1 1/2 hrs) and money ($30 for two). They also will ship (12.95 flat fee) anything you buy. Of course their website will too. read more

She then took us out to the hives and showed us the internal workings. Felicia answered all our questions. This is a must see while in Savannah. I was shopping in their store the day the mask mandate was reissued. I walked in without a mask and they refused to let me make a purchase until I put a mask on. Let me say that again. They refused to let me buy something without a mask on. They discriminated against me because I wasn't wearing a mask. I left without buying anything because I will not wear a mask. FYI- masks don't work. I will never shop there again. read more

Love everything about Savannah Bee Company! We were planning a Girl Scout trip to Savannah and contacted them about a tour. They don't do tours on the day of the week we were in the area (Tuesday), but replied quickly and said come anyway, we'll make it work. The staff was friendly, helpful, full of great information about bees, and didn't bat an eye at a large group of ten year olds swarming the store. They answered the girls' questions, encouraged them to taste test and check out the hive they have in the store. The tour was incredible. We learned all about bees and hives then donned nets and went into the garden to meet the bees and see the hives. We even got to taste straight from the hive and hold it for a picture. Their products include honey, of course, but also mead, cosmetics, skin care. I got jars of sage and lavender honey, a piece of hive, lip balm, and lemon whipped honey. read more

I love the sourwood, the lavender, and the tea honey. Even tried the persopolis for those sore throat days. Plus they have chocolate whipped honey! And you can never go wrong with samples. This place is truly just a little tiny spell of magical. It seems out of place from where it is, but for what it lacks in location it makes up for in quality and specialty. There is a bee garden in the back where you can get up close an personal with the little guys that are the beating heart of our plant life! Tours are only $3 and so very much worth it. My family and I just finished a bee tour at the Wilmington Island location and we all are all kinds of smiles. The staff are unreal helpful and the tour that Stephanie gave was so detailed and passionate my whole family wants to raise bees now. From the educational aspects to the honey tasting - truly a wonderful way to spend an hour. There are 3 locations in Savannah, but I believe this one is the biggest, as it looks like it is attatched to the factory, and is right by the beach! My wife and I visited the Wilmington Ga. Location to day and did the full bee yard tour with mead and honey tasting. We have been beekeepers for five years and had a great time, We learned some new things (you will never know everything about bees) and the mead and honey was outstanding. The young lady that gave the tour, we think her name was Felicia (if not we are very sorry) was excellent and very enthusiastic. We both highly recommend doing this. read more

We needed to kill a little bit of time before another activity and stopped in today. The staff were amazing! This location has an active hive they is visible from inside the store. The staff gave our son a mini science lesson on the hive and different stages of a Bees life. They have all the same products as the Broughton Street location just less crowded and the active hive for viewing. read more

Stumbled upon this place while on vacation. It's fabulous! The sweet girl at the front (forgot to get her name) was very knowledgable and accommodating. My daughters (5&7) asked a million questions and the staff member was so sweet and kind. She even made them generous treat bags to take with them! I shop at the Savannah Bee Company in downtown Savannah every time I visit. On this last visit (last week) I visited this location & got to tour the bee gardens. The employees were kind and helpful, and I learned so much! They obviously care about bee education (important considering how crucial bees are to our environment).
