I can't recommend Alex enough! Before training with him, I really struggled with stubborn body fat and honestly felt like I had tried everything. Alex completely changed the way I approach fitness and nutrition. One of the biggest things he taught me was how to properly reverse diet and fuel my body with higher calories while still making progress. I've been training for over 8 years and this program has given me the best results in the least amount of time. I was eating more, had so much more energy, and somehow ended up at the lowest body fat I've ever been while training with him. I started at 38% body fat and ended up at 30% in only 3 MONTHS. Beyond the physical results, he taught me a completely different approach to working out. I learned how to train smarter, understand what my body actually needs, and stop being afraid of food or calories. He genuinely cares about his clients and takes the time to educate you rather than just telling you what to do.If you're looking for a coach who actually knows what he's doing, gets results, and can completely change the way you think about fitness, I highly recommend him. Easily one of the best investments I've made in myself! read more

Before working with Alex, I was hitting the gym most of my adult life so far. However, I didn't develop a set of guidelines, workout structure, and meal plans for myself. I never put myself out there to reach out to a personal trainer to lead me in the right direction. With little over a year with Alex, I'm so happy with the progress I've accomplished. I've gained the most physical and mental strength I've ever achieved in my life, and it's only getting better. What I wanted to gain from coaching is exactly what I've accomplished working with him -- from hitting PRs in the gym, to looking built, I've learned a lot about myself and what I can do as long as I can have self discipline and accountability. Learning how to properly meal plan between cutting and bulking was key in finally figuring out how to properly diet. I learned an endless variety of workouts that I never even thought about doing in the gym when I had no guidance. With Alex, I was able to shed down body fat while gaining some muscle and boosting my strength--this was all through REVERSE dieting! I used this to my advantage in cutting body fat % and increasing strength. I went from eating 2000 calories to 2800 daily. I was able to still have a fun style while being active, and taking accountability for my diet. For anyone looking for a huge change with their body, mentality, and lifestyle, I would most definitely recommend Alex Olarte. It is now time to cut!!! read more

I've been training with Alex for a little over a year now, and he's completely changed my fitness journey. I used to have really low self-esteem and was terrified of the gym. I even remember going once and leaving in tears because I felt so out of place. I'd stress for hours just thinking about going and begged my friends to come with me. Now I can confidently walk into an Equinox surrounded by bodybuilders and feel completely comfortable being there. Alex made everything simple, effective, and easy to stick with. The results came faster than I ever expected, and I even have abs now, which I never thought was possible. But more than that, I finally feel confident and proud of my body. If you're struggling with confidence or not seeing results, I can't recommend Alex enough. read more

After years of unhealthy habits and going on fad diets, losing weight, then gaining the weight back I finally decided I need to hire a professional. I got in contact with Alex from Savage Performance in June of this year. He sat down with me, went over my wants and goals, and gave me realistic perspective on what I needed to do to meet those goals. He built me a training plan that worked with my busy work schedule, and a nutrition plan with everything from daily macro nutrients for the week to food ideas to meet those daily macros. He took the stress of thinking out of the picture. It has now been almost 6 months with Savage Performance and with only 3-4 hours MINIMUM of consistent work in the gym each week the results I've seen have been mind blowing. I always thought I needed to starve myself, but I've done from 1600 calories a week to now 3500 calories a week and I'm still shedding fat! In total from the start I have gone from 24.2% body fat to 16% body fat and my muscle mass has gone from 95.9 lbs to 109.1lbs. In total, that's 8.2% body fat loss, and 13.2 lbs of muscle mass gain. I've never felt better than I do now! See photos below for results and in-body scans! read more

Circling back a year later! I've been training with Alex for almost 2 years now, and he's completely changed my body composition for the better! After seeing a recent photo of me compared with one from when we first started training together, I wanted to circle back and thank him for helping me achieve my goals. Not only have I gained a healthy 21lbs since, but more importantly I look and feel my best! I've also learned so much about lifting, nutrition, all while having fun at the gym and living a balanced lifestyle. Working out and trying to gain muscle isn't always fun or easy, but Alex has always been encouraging and doesn't make working out feel like a chore. He's truly the best trainer (and now friend) out there. Can't wait to continue my fitness journey with him and see what's next! read more

I started working with Alex in fall of 2022 after leaving a previous powerlifting coach. Since I had previous experience, I opted for his remote training. I had a goal of 1450 in mind after a previous meet total of sub 1400. He has coached me through two USPA meets so far as a submaster, where I have increased my total to 1454 and have repeatedly hit personal records in training and on meet day. During my preparation, as I was feeling tweaks and tightness, he worked closely with me to prescribe mobility movements that are not only good for a sustainable lifting career, but general day to day kinesthetics in life as well. I highly recommend Alex, he's professional, prompt, personable and an all around good guy. read more

Alex is a dedicated personal trainer who genuinely cares about his clients progress and well being. I gained 10lbs of muscle, substantially improved my strength, stability, and mobility, in about 6 months of training with him. He is very knowledgeable and customized the training program and nutrition plan based on my needs, progress and schedule. He was always mindful of my injuries and niggles, pushed me just the right amount, and motivated me to be consistent and disciplined. I hadn't worked out in years and Alex helped me get well and truly back into it, and am really grateful for that! Look no further if you're looking for a trainer. I trained with Alex for 3 months in-person, and during this time, I made great progress and learned so much from him!! In the first couple of months, I gained 5lbs of muscle and built up a foundation of good technique and eating habits to keep me going and get stronger over time. I was really surprised with the strength gains I made -- and it's due to Alex's training methodology and attention to detail. He also helped me stay injury free, as I had a previous herniated disc injury from the year before. I'm really glad to have trained with Alex and would recommend him to anyone that's looking to train hard with a great dude!! The atmosphere at Zoo is friendly, and everyone there made me feel welcome -- I looked forward to each day's workout. read more

I was on yelp looking for a trainer when I found Alex in October. If you're looking for a personable, dedicated, and knowledgeable personal trainer, then Alex is your guy. I've been working with Alex twice per week for the past 6 months and have lost body fat, gained muscle, gotten stronger, but most importantly, implemented practices that have helped me positively adjust my lifestyle. If you're wanting a gimmicky, lose-weight-quick scheme, his programming is not for you. If you are dedicated to showing up for yourself, putting in some time and effort in the kitchen and the gym, and implementing long lasting, healthy habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life, then absolutely work with Alex. He's a great mentor and will always keep you accountable. During our sessions, if I ever brought up concerns about how many calories/macros I need to eat, or how much weight I need to lift in any given week, Alex knew exactly when to push me to my limit or contrarily adjust the program. In addition to his training, he's also just a really cool guy to talk to in between sets. The sooner you start working with Alex, the sooner you can start working toward your ideal body and living your healthiest life! read more

I trained with Alex for a little over 3 months, when I met him I was clueless about nutrition and weight training. I came in overweight, unmotivated, and ready to just give up. He put a game plan that was really easy to understand and follow, along with working out with him 3 times a week. The days I did not work with him I still had a game plan provided by him to do on my own. I lost 35 pounds and still have kept it off. It wasn't easy, he was there to support and push when I needed it. If you're ready to get your stuff in order this is your guy. I would 100% recommend Savage Performance. read more

after a few months of trying to loose weight with little to nothing knowledge about nutrition or workouts. a friend referred me in which in 6 months i lost almost 20 pounds of fat while learning about maintaining my muscle. i had very little knowledge of training, and nutrition. alex was very patient and ensured we were working on goals. i had already previously lost almost 50 pounds on my own mostly doing cardio afraid to lift weights but felt like felt "skinny fat". alex was a great trainer and in which i gained confidence lifting weights and being able to do other non cardio related workouts. he also made nutrition planning and ideas easy to follow. i would definitely recommend as he is very friendly, understanding and his coaching is very through. i felt comfortable enough to ask questions even if they felt "dumb". i have gained confidence in the gym and in my personal life to where ive had people ask me at work if i was on ozempic for my rapid weight loss. mind you i had already lost 50 pounds alone but didn't start to get comments until after 4 months in my training. i recommend alex to any of my co workers and family if they're serious about making a change in their life style. it has definitely pumped the gas for this new lifestyle journey and i can't thank alex enough! read more
