My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!

The cooking instructions were to take them out of the tins and cook on oven rack, but the crust edges on two of them were broken so we could not remove them. They were all actually so thin and fragile that we cooked the other 2 on a cookie sheet. So they did not come out as crisp as we would have liked and the ones in the foil tins stuck to the pan. We had cheese, sausage and pepperoni. Sausage was ok, the other two blah and mediocre. No herbs on any of them. The Chicago dog kit was great, with Vienna red hots and poppy seed buns with all the condiments. Easy to heat and tasty. The half rack of ribs with sauce was good too. The highlight was Eli's cheesecake. Perfect, thoughtful packaging, easy to serve and just delicious. I made a strawberry sauce to serve with it. All in all a lovely gift but I would send the deep dish over thin crust pizzas. I think they would hold up better and be easier to heat.

I love the amazing presentation across all items I've seen -- many times exceeding what I've ever seen at weddings. They also provide wonderful cards with descriptions and dietary indicators that look great and are very informative. What really stands out here though is the food quality. All the fruits and vegetables I've had, whether it be in a fruit tray, salad, grilled veggies, etc. are top notch. Generally I won't go towards fresh produce when given other options, but Pear Tree has won me over with their absolutely delicious items. Even items such as breadsticks and crackers with a mix of cheese are absolutely delicious, where the commitment to sourcing quality ingredients is evident with every bite.
