There is a toddler area, area for "big kids" & a "secret garden" though some bushes. While overall well designed... I do not like the many entry/exits & blind spots. The best area to keep track of the big kids maybe on the top of the ramp outside the wall. With mix toddler & "big kid"... follow UnCool Dave rules & tell the "big kids" they must stay on or over the AstroTurf area.

But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself. Parking needs to be fixed... there is no way an emergency vehicle could have gotten in to help if help was needed. That is a big concern.

This was our first visit and so we parked in the lot that gps took us to and then followed the signs for the hiking trail. We were impressed with the number of hikers and mountain bikers out and about. What I really enjoyed about this park is that the trails are all easy to follow and loop around so that you can choose any direction to walk. We started with the shorter hike and walked to the overlook which was so pretty! We spent some time just watching the river and then decided to try another trail for a bit. Honestly, it was really nice to be outside. Baxter was so happy to be able to play in the leaves and we all got really excited because we saw a bunch of deer while we were out walking! Of course, when we saw them, we all stopped and just let the deer have their space to get where they were going. The loop that we completed was about 3 miles and I really appreciated how easy it was to navigate the park. We did not get over to the cave during this visit, but will plan to visit again on another warm-ish day so that we can explore the other trails.

Fir those who want more of a "nature" feel there are some hiking and biking trails tucked away near the walking trails, which in my opinion, could use better trail markers. The hiking trails are still close to the border if the walking trails, so you don't go far into the wooded areas. My favorite part of the park were the caves, as soon as you enter the bottom of the trail where the caves are you can feel the cool air from the caves. It was great to check out and I wish the trails offered more scenic views in addition to this.

In the summer, the sculptures can get hot so be careful. The highway is just below the park so it is extremely noisy. This is also close to the street so it is not the safest place, so visitors must take extreme caution. Dogs are allowed on leash and picnic blankets are allowed. Next door is a small semi enclosed playground with slides and swings. It is not as accessible for those in wheelchairs. There is a restroom and plenty of portable toilets. It's also across the highway from the Zoo and free to park on the street if you do both attractions.

This is an urban park at its best.

It has exercise machines, 2 aquatic centers (the outdoor one is quite spectacular in the summertime), but the best is that I'd had comfortable places to lounge, work on your laptop, get free coffees and tea (like Parisian Blackberry) or hang out with people in the Senior Hub.

I noticed they had places for horseshoe and other park activities, but things seem to be closed off right now due to COVID. People were staying distanced from one another and it was easy to walk around people if I needed to. This is a great park and I can't wait to visit it again on the next nice day we get in STL.

Kids 1 up to maybe 13 or so were playing with plenty of space. My 2 year old had a fun time on the swings, rocking bikes, slides.
