We are surrounded by a number of "high end" food markets, including Doris, Carmines and Josephs…read more My favorite is Doris - their deli counter is incredible, from home prepared cold cuts to great salads and cooked dishes. To me, theirs is the best. The chopped liver is surprising - rich but never grainy. My guilty pleasures include their curry chicken salad and macaroni salad. The butcher shop is great - although there are times when only one butcher is on duty and the wait is too long. The bakery has "everything" and their pizza shop outstanding. Their New York style pizza is one of the best anywhere in South Florida. Although I don't buy my wines there, their offerings are impressive - a broad and deep shop. Finally, their people are almost always friendly and helpful. Overall, I always have a comfortable shopping experience.

It was delicious & some of the best I have had. I saw seared ahi tuna in the entree case. I got two pieces for the hubs. He said while the tuna was good, it was not cut the right way which highlighted the sinew. The almond horns were excellent. Overall it was a good experience. But I will continue to frequent Joseph's Italian Market. Better food & less pricey.

There were absolutely no places that I could find that carried basic Asian staples like Curry…read morepaste, coconut cream and Thai basil in this bastion of white bread Oscar Mayer Baloney sandwich land yet as a relatively well traveled fellow, who lived over a decade in Asia here now in Florida to help out a good friend recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and going thru Chemo. He is too weak to cook so Big Larry bees cooking up some stir fry and curries for him as that is his jam right now. Well, they have Harry's house of Cholesterol with six gallon jugs of Nutella and lard, but no green veggies until I found this gem of a market. A tiny bodega tucked into a strip mall and Exactly where I would expect an Asian market to be. Little English spoken and not a white fellow in sight. Ahhh. My kinda place. Fresh Asian veggies! OMG! Long beans, three kinds of Bok Choy. A zillion kinds of mushrooms, black garlic, Thai Basil, FRESH lime leaves. Heaven for a cooking freak like me. Canned and dried necessities as well like fermented bean and shrimp paste, tons of fish sauces, all kinds of soy sauce including hard to find sweet soy and even sweetened condensed coconut milk. I swooned. Curry leaves, fried onions and those Bitchen teeny dried shrimp. You get the gist. They had everything I needed except Fugu. But, unless you are looking for it specifically, you'd pass right by. The place looks teeny but explore - even if you are not a fan of Asian food, you should stop by with your kids. It is an awesome way to learn about a new culture in your own back yard. Hey, and you might get the kids to put the Baloney sandwiches down in favor of a bowl of green curry.

We saw meatloaf, chicken piccata, lasagna, ribs, I mean I can go on and on. They also have a market to buy other goods. My one complaint is the staff. The guy who made our sandwiches was so polite, but he was the only one. The hot case is right next to the pizza, so you would think if the lady asked for some meatballs he would take care of it, especially since the deli line was so long. The guy in the pizza station had no customers, but still told the lady she had to wait and ask the deli for the THREE meatballs she wanted. Checking out was the same. Just rude, no acknowledgment. Will I still come if in the area, probably but I'll give them the same energy they give their customers!

So the dirty water gun was soaking in water that he was about to pour into people's glasses. I almost threw up. Then....we witnessed him drop the water jug into the ice - the same ice that servers were using to make drinks. Who knows where the bottom of the water jug has been as I'm sure he has put it down a time or two on bar tops, table tops, etc. And now, it's sitting in the ice. Gross. Lastly, there had to be 100 flies all over the outside bar. Regular flies and also fruit flies. I hate to leave this negative review but am doing so in the hopes that they clean up, because we really love Carmines.
