Every other time but today, this is a 4-5 star establishment I have frequented since 2020 often running $100 tabs on each visit. Today, I opened a Turkish-manufactured feta cheese I purchased few days ago with a December 2025 expiration date, that I could not possibly consume. Instead of being solid and crumbly, it was yellowish and spongy. I know my feta cheese. My mom is Bulgarian born, and I am Turkish born. After three hangups in trying to convey my request to come in for an exchange to a different brand, the owner refused to consider an exchange implying that he did not know me and that I could have sabotaged the product. It's a $6.99 product, and I have given this establishment thousands of dollars over the past few years. I was not welcome. I guess they will have to find another regular customer. But after reading about the food there, I'd bookmarked it. Had no idea there was a restaurant inside the market! Only today, did my husband decide we should go and try it. First a word about the market -- lots of produce and groceries. At first I assumed everything was middle eastern, but they also have Spanish products and several of the check out clerks (and customers) speak Spanish. I got some tomatoes at a very reasonable price. Everything looked very fresh. They even have some organic stuff. I also got some middle eastern candy that appealed. We went to the restaurant part. All the tables were occupied. After standing there a minute, one of the customers told us to ring the bell and they'd come to take our order. We decided to share combo #11 which was one skewer of meat kabob and one of ground beef over basmati rice. We were given a receipt and told to pay at the register of the market and that it would be about 10 minutes. When the meal was ready, he brought it to the table. I asked for well done and everything was nicely charred. I got an extra empty plate. On a separate plate they brought two pieces of pita, a container of yoghurt dill sauce (like Greek tsatsiki but with fresh dill weed), and a package of sumac spice (my favorite) along with a wrapped pat of butter. For drinks, you help yourself to something from the cooler or near where you get the plastic ware is a water fountain and cups. The combo dish we ordered was a perfect size to share. The shish-kebab came with grilled onions, grilled yellow and green peppers, and two grilled whole tomatoes. The meat pieces were very tender. Along side was a long oblong of seasoned ground meat. All was served over a mound of rice. After liberally sprinkling with the sumac, everything was delicious! We saw our neighboring table order ice cream that looked intriguing. They explained it was Persian - made with saffron, rose water, and pistachios. We had to try some. This was addictive. The light flavor of saffron, the perfumed scent of rose water, and the crunch of pistachios -- all in a bright yellow colored base. This flavor is home made here and people come from all over to buy it/eat it. I'd definitely come back for more of this delicious food. Including the dessert and the lunch -- both of which we shared along with a drink, our bill was under $20! read more

This is one of the best Persian restaurants in the area. My coworkers and I scheduled lunch, and not only was everything prepared for our arrival, but the outdoor tables and linens and we're ready for some serious feasting. I enjoyed the fesenjan, which is a sweet sour and amazing stew made with pomegranate syrup and walnuts with tender chunks of chicken and a side of rice, which of course I had to add sumac on top. To drink, I chose doog, which is a salted yogurt drink; extremely refreshing and delicious for those who like the taste of plain yogurt. My colleagues enjoyed eggplant beef shish kebab, and chicken shish kebab over rice. I have tasted all of these on previous occasions, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Our delicious lunch was rounded out with homemade baklava, which was sticky, flaky, sweet, and chewy at the same time; paired with hot tea, this was the perfect ending to a lovely lunch. Of course we couldn't go home without making purchases in the store: Turkish delight, sabzi aash, noodles, and other staples are a must. I'm so excited to have found this place. The food here is really something. I don't know how many times I've driven past this unassuming place not knowing they have wonderful food. Thank God, for Yelp. I had put it into my collection of place to try months ago. This place didn't disappoint. I came in on rainy Sunday looking for something that reminded me of sunnier times. I first decided to check out their market area before deciding on ordering hot food at the counter. They had a huge variety of foods I've never seen before but definitely wanted to try. They had some of the best vegetables I ever seen and very inexpensive. They had a lot of produce that you would not normally see in larger markets. I got some fresh passion fruits, very reasonably priced honeycomb, sweet mini peppers and some cherry tea. At the food counter I ordered the beef tenderloin kabob #10. They give you a receipt that you then take to the checkout line when you are ready to pay for all your items. The kabob is so good. It comes with fresh bell peppers, a tomato and a fragrant heaping of basmati rice . The food is simple and just so good. They also have the best pistachio baklava I've ever had. It's made fresh daily. Hurry and grab some cause you might miss it. It goes quickly. I come here about once every two weeks. The friendly gentleman at the counter laughs everytime he sees me now, because he knows I'm hooked. read more

Review for the restaurant grill part, which is part of this market. The food was really good. It was fresh and nicely prepared. I love any form of Persian Cuisine. The prices seem off however, with it being in a supermarket. Paying $12 for a combo platter sitting in a supermarket, I don't know. I rather eat it at home. They do not offer water or any drinks to buy. I think next time I would take it to go instead. I ate the combo platter which consisted of beef and chicken skewer on top of rice and bread. I liked the taste of the meat. You pay at the cash register then take your receipt to the gentleman preparing everything in the grill area. The green house bazaar itself is nicely stocked up with fresh produce and essentials for Persian cooking. I did not buy any groceries only wanted to try their food that day. They also have a juice bar section as well. They have renovated and expanded their store into these sections to make it accommodating one stop for their shoppers. First of all, its located inside of a grocery store.. don't be alarmed, order your food and pick up some international treats that you can't find anywhere else! I chose the chicken and beef kabobs. While the menu is limited, you get quality flavor and I'll take that any day over the endless menus that are lacking. The meal was served with rice and roasted tomatoes. The chicken was good. It wasn't dry and was good overall. The standout in this meal was the beef kabob!! So very good!! I would drive out there just for the beef kabobs and several of them. I can leave the chicken and eat all the beef kabobs. The roasted tomatoes and the seasoning packet that you put atop your rice adds to the authentic experience. I highly recommend coming here if you are a fan of Persian food, and if you're not, come here anyway and you will be. The portions are large, the flavors are perfection, and the staff are all very friendly. It's Persian but anyone who likes Israeli or Middle Eastern food will enjoy or just stop for the fresh produce. Owners are in the store and very nice. It's like a little farmer's market with fresh and inexpensive veggies and fruits, but it's so much more. Lots of hard to find middle eastern food and sweets, and a eat in casual food area. We JUST finished eating here and had one of the best meals ever. Very simple but friendly atmosphere. (It is in a grocery store) Many Persians in here (we are not but try to find persian food ever where we go). On the level of Reza's in Chicago!!! Very affordable and very very nice people.
