Dear foodtown/mangotree,…read more I am writing to share several serious concerns regarding my experiences shopping at your locations, specifically the stores in Hollywood (off Sterling Road) and on Military Trail. Overall, my interactions with the staff and management have been deeply disappointing due to widespread unprofessionalism and poor customer service. Key issues include: - Customer Service & Phone Etiquette: When calling to check on orders, I have repeatedly been placed on hold indefinitely, hung up on, and even mocked when calling back. - Staff Assistance: Staff members have been openly dismissive and unhelpful when asked for assistance finding items in the store. - Management Conduct: I have witnessed store managers behaving aggressively, speaking disrespectfully to customers, and refusing to resolve complaints professionally. - Food Safety Standards: When I voiced concern to an employee about raw fish being left out in a cardboard box without ice, my concern was dismissed and laughed off. While a select few employees have been helpful, the vast majority of my experiences have been overwhelmingly negative. Given these ongoing issues with store management, staff training, and health standards, I hope these matters are addressed immediately to improve the overall quality and safety of your operations - but I honestly doubt you will do anything except perhaps change your name again to attempt to hide from the overwhelming complaints you received in the past being foodtown. Good News for the community is that H-Mart a honest to goodness real asian super market is opening up in West Palm on military trail and will be putting you out of business in short order. This Middle Eastern and Mediterranean market has been serving the community since the 1970s. My colleagues introduced me to this hidden gem, and I've been hooked for the past 2.5 years. This local, family-owned business serves incredibly fresh, delicious food. My favorite sides are the Israeli couscous salad with currants, Craisins, edamame, red, orange, and yellow sweet peppers; the roasted cauliflower garnished with basil and tahini; and the lentil salad with caramelized onions and roasted garlic cloves that simply melt in your mouth--or, even better, spread on their fresh, house-made pita bread. My favorite hot platters are the Shish Tawook Platter, featuring perfectly seasoned chicken chunks smothered in garlic aioli with diced tomatoes and fresh herbs; the Spicy Chicken Kabob Platter; and the Black Angus Shawarma Platter, made with Black Angus beef sirloin and garlic aioli. All platters are served with rice, hummus, and fattoush salad. The platters are also available as wraps, filled with garlic aioli, parsley, lettuce, tomato, and onion, all wrapped in their freshly baked, house-made flatbread. They also carry an impressive assortment of spices, fresh pita, olives, olive oil, and many other Middle Eastern specialty items. Please come support this hidden, family-owned gem. We are losing far too many wonderful family-owned businesses, and I don't want to lose this one. They truly deserve our support. Every time I visit, the customer service is warm and welcoming. They remember their customers, greet you with a smile, and always make you feel like family. They even call me "Q" (short for Qcute), which always makes me laugh. It's those little personal touches that keep me coming back. If you're looking for authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food made with fresh ingredients and served by genuinely kind people, you won't be disappointed.
