Satyam is the nicer and fancier sister of Ashoka located just around the corner. This place is bigger, less nosy and more appropriate for a dinner. They serve (as written on the menu) Ayurveda and vegetarian food. You can also fill a test sheet out first to find out your Ayurveda type since some dishes are classified with the Ayurveda types. Their menu is slightly bigger than the vegetarian on at Ashoka and they definitely have more creative dishes such as filled beetroot in ginger sauce. My highlight was their lunch offer: a plate with 4 different curry with rice and salad. I mean excuse me? Can you read my mind? Hell yeah! The plate turned out to be huge and I couldn't be happier about it. I had some lentils with beans, tofu curry with pineapple in coconut sauce, red cabbage and mushroom stew and a potato broccoli stew. DAMN! Everything was well seasoned, super aromatic and so delicious. The amount of food was just perfect for me. I was so stuffed after finishing the plate. The only thing I didn't liked was the fact that my rice was a tiny bit too cold but duh... everything else was perfect. My friend on the other hand had a less charming experience. She ordered the stuffed beetroot and asked twice if the sauce is spicy and the waiter said no. After eating it she realized that the sauce is indeed not too spicy but the filling of the beetroot. I tried it as well and have to confirm: Yes it was spicy. She gave her best to finish it but as a person who isn't used to spicy food (that's why the asked the waiter) it was too much. So if you come here tell the waiter that you die if the dish is minimally spicy so you won't get any bad surprises. But for me: I prefer this place during the lunch time a bit over Ashoka since the lunch plate is bigger and just 1€ more than the Ashoka dishes.

The place looks great and the food tasted amazing, but unfortunately the service was a little bit yucky. My friend and I had to wait at least fifteen minutes to be noticed and then it would take ages between visits from the waitress. She was friendly, but a little overworked. And then the cashier guy could also learn some basic customer service tips, but over all the place is great and I'll come back. I just know I have to be patient :)

The menu includes lots of options around the Middle Eastern favourites of houmous (a whole range of options) and tahini, but with lots of less familiar dishes (to me at least) with fish and meat covered in rich sauces. Vegetarians and (particularly) vegans are well catered for - so much so that the menu lists vegan options rather than vegetarian. I chose the falafel plate, with four large falafels, tahini and four salads. My partner chose the Shakshuka with beef sausages, set in a rich tomato and pepper stew, with tomato salad, both served with pitta, olives and gherkins. The portions were good and filling, and we're glad we hadn't ordered starters. That said, other diners were happily polishing off platefuls of both. Meat and fish mains can be served with rice or fries. Our meals with two beers came to €35, which seemed like good value. Friendly and reasonably swift service. We shall return.

Rest is nicely done but tastes ok Menu: The menu has 4-5 appetizers listed and 4-5 entrees and 3-4 desserts. Basically small number of dishes to choose from. Menues change over Time though! Orders and meals: We ordered beetroot (rote Beete) - 10€. Fantastic dish! Nicely served and absolute tasty. Definitely recommend Main course we had the duck and the Dinkel bread (10€) with paprika. Skip the dinkelbread it was ok, but the duck was great (can't believe that was even vegan). The duck skin and the dish tasted great (15€) Price: For vegan, the location and quality of food I think it's reasonable. The portion sizes are ok but could be slightly bigger. Every entree is around 10-16€, you won't get full by just ordering an entree. Every appetizer ranges between 5-10€. So you can expect to pay 20-30€ with a drink for a evening dinner at this place. The good thing is, though, is that they also have a full-lowuor selection bar and is open til late at night (used to operate 24/7, but after COVID, they more or less changed to serving til 10 or 11Pm instead). The menu itself is a breakfast affair, with a variety of pancakes/sweet breakfast to yummy things like eggs Benedict varieties. I had Tower of Babylon, which was on a light side. But, having that with sourdough...it makes me feel so full that I couldn't really try some sweets/desserts as I initially hoped for. The place was busy and at times seemed understaffed. However, the staff was nice and polite. The bartender even gave me a cocktail drink on him, knowing it would take a little while for me to get my food the day I stopped by. The tower of Babylon that I ordered was perfect sized actually. It wasn't heavy and I felt great and not sluggish as I would normally feel with other breakfast foods after the meals. Check this place out during the breakfast/day time if you are looking for a trendy brunch spots..but the night/evening times offers a lill more intimate/swanky version of this dining place as well!
