Skip the dinkelbread it was ok, but the duck was great (can't believe that was even vegan). In the middle of a shady street right off the main shopping street here. We both had scrambled eggs with bacon set on a delicious potato pancake. So, with one bite you get the whole dish! So good! Bread on the side with a wonderful dark German coffee. Service was great and friendly. So easy to see why it's busy here. Now, I'm counting the hours until it's time for a cold Rosè in the garden!!! The staff immediately sat us down and gave us the menu. They came by a short while later to get our order and gave some suggestions. They happily served tap water free of charge. They also gave us bread and when thy saw that we were out, immediately refilled it. They give great portions for food that isn't too salty and is not bland. We got the vegetarian pizza, two pastas, and a crepe dish. I don't remember all the names but they were all vegetarian and delicious. I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

They wouldn't even let me in the door…read more I was visiting Berlin for work along with my family (husband and son, 11 y.o., not a toddler) and looking forward to dining here as I run an art organization just outside of the NYC area. I was happy to patronize a restaurant with such longtime art associations. We arrived somewhat early for dinner because we'd skipped lunch and were hungry but also thought it might be best to visit before the regular evening dining rush arrived. Unfortunately, upon opening the door and greeting the host, we were told that the kitchen was about to close at 5:00 and they could not seat us. This was a Wednesday night. They are open from noon until 1 AM. There were open tables everywhere inside and outside with perhaps a couple of seated guests. I tried to clarify that we were wanting to eat, and while I can speak some German, it's not 100%, and I thought perhaps I was understanding the opposite - that the kitchen OPENED at 5:00. But no, he was telling me that we couldn't get a meal, that the kitchen was closing. It was very apparent that we were not wanted there as patrons, so we left and had a fabulous multi-course sushi dinner next door. As we left, I could see they had patrons seated at the outside tables, and there were other guests entering and exiting. They were open, they just weren't open for us. I will NEVER go back there and don't recommend other people patronize them if this is their attitude to potential clientele.
