Pomegranate lemonade.

We had lunch. A delicious chicken saffron sandwich and a refreshing pomegranate lemonade. The sandwich was so big that we split it.

Golden chicken and rice

Amazing food with lots of variety. I got the golden chicken with rice and Persian tea. I tried my sister's Persian lemonade with was great at well.

Walking into this small, simply decorated Persian restaurant doesn't evoke a wow factor. However the food and friendly service more than makes up for it, and that "wow" appears when you taste their homemade humus. I'm not kidding, I normally don't go for humus, but this is 10X better than any I've ever had before!! Anyway, menu has plenty of variety (pic), and I enjoyed my saffron chicken bowl. We had the picked cucumber and veggie apps, and my friend gave me one of the beef/lamb kebabs, which was great. Wine list was small but affordable - and the two we had were A-ok (Riesling & Italian Syrah)... in summary, I'd def come back :-)

Awesome little coffee shop in a cool neighborhood. Loved the Vegan Scramble and the hot teas they have available. Plenty of options with respect to allergies such as gluten/soy etc.

My friend and I grabbed Meet Me Halfway for dinner one night in Berlin. This is a cute establishment with plenty of seating. The prices were super reasonable. They have a big menu and something that will satisfy everyone. The salad that I ordered was delicious; the ingredients were fresh and it hit the spot after a long day of travel.

A spontaneous choice led to a wonderfully tasty and very filling meal of starters, entrees, and dessert.

I did find the saffron ice cream full of saffron flavor and enjoyed that quite a bit.

The fact that clean, delicious (and often vegan!) food can exist in a modern, aesthetically pleasing restaurant and that people who don't abide by certain dietary restrictions can enjoy and crave. I have an enormous soft spot for baked beans over toast. An English breakfast, if you may. (This is the one mainstay of all of the weeks I've spent in London.) And most of the time, I have a hard time getting this baked beans-over-toast fix because I don't eat red meat, so a proper English breakfast would be out of the question. Not in Berlin. Not at Chipps. I came in on a rainy fall morning on the hunt for the Perfect Gentlemen: scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, baked beans over toast, and my choice of a vegetarian sausage. And while utterly veg-friendly and endearingly hip (the baked beans came to my table in a little jar), I couldn't help but notice that the meal, such a British staple, fell flat because of what I was comparing it to. The two pieces of vegetarian sausage were cold and the baked beans were just a tad too sweet. But still, maybe Chipps could be your Berlin. Try one of the many other options they have on their menu and I have a feeling you won't be disappointed.
