He wouldn't watch the video I brought about gray blending and the color is not at all what I wanted - he assured me his way was better. It looks like a bad frost job from the 60s. RUINED the beautiful silver I'd been growing out for a year. This cut though, pure trash - I cried for hours. I look AWFUL!!! He was also extremely rough, pulling my hair, wiping the color aggressively, it felt like he was angry to be there. It was painful, not relaxing. Also the salon is dirty. Not the Penzones experience I remember. Hire a cleaning person for the love. And for this trash I paid $400. I was too upset to say anything. I burst into tears the moment I left.

I was told there was no one there at the moment and if I can could come in as fast as possible, I could get a haircut. I got there 5:51 PM. I got my hair washed first which is basic and then the woman did a whole set of magical skills with her scissors and got me the layers I wanted. I said I wanted the same length, in which more than what I wanted was taken off. But... it looked nice. She blew dry it for a couple seconds since my hair was still sopping wet but I said I didn't want it styled or blown out because it's just less heat damage. I paid $15 and left a $5 tip, $20 total. I was back in my car at 6:09 PM. My wash+hair cut took less than 18 minutes. They do their job in cutting hair and cutting it well. The experience of it all wasn't the most relaxing, but in the end I got what I wanted. I'm not dinging them one star because of the ambience was less than ideal. Unfortunately, the scalp treatment didn't last more than a day and the blowout is nice but I am not that kind of person to keep a hairstyle looking nice for several days. I am not sure the point of a blowout bar personally and the price was expensive for the treatment not lasting more than 24 hours. The technicians were really nice though, and the scalp massage was delightful.

Okay, I didn't look too hard: I live near Studio H, and in my various trips to Stauf's or Jeni's I often thought about stopping in. A change in 'do when I was living abroad got me hooked on having life-changing, transformative, Adonis-like hair. Studio H seemed like they could keep it (and my sense of self-worth) up, so I stopped in. My experience since then has been excellent. Amtiy's worked with me to get the cut/style that I've wanted, working up to it progressively over time. The hairwashing is relaxing and the shaving cream is always hot--what's not to like?
