I called and was given a couple options of their opening. I chose a Saturday morning appointment. (If you can book for during the week I highly suggest it) When driving in I came to the front of the building which was locked and a young woman came out to advise me to head to the back of the building. I then proceeded to drive to the back and was able to find parking quiet easily. From the parking lot to the front entrance was about 50 feet. I had trouble finding it since there are so many buildings. I was able to call and Jeannine guided me. You just have to walk toward the "PureRejuv Wellness" Sign this is their front entrance and it is a smaller building. Walking through their front door you smell essential oils and asked to remove your shoes and leave them by the front entrance. I was greeted by Jeannie with a warm welcome and walked to the front desk to check in. By the front entrance they provide hand sanitizer and a welcome sign. They have tea and water available and a gender neutral restroom. I only waited about two minutes until I was greeted by Lee my massage therapist for my appointment. She walked me to my room and asked me questions about where I would like to focus on and so forth. You can either go all nude or leave on your undergarments if you are more comfortable. Lee was very knowledgeable and calming. She provided a great service and helped my back as much as possible. After my massage I felt so much better than what I had felt when I first walked in. I look forward to coming back to try their other services.

With our initial conversation she helped me to realize the actions and thoughts that linked together to create tension and blocked energy in my body. From there she then provided me with one of the most unforgettable massages I've ever experienced. She started off with aromatherapy as I layed on the this pre-warmed cozy massage table. On my 8th out of 10 days, I knew that I needed much more than an overpriced massage. Jamie graciously made time for me the following morning. By that time, day 9 of vacation with my husband's side of the family and our children, my body, mind, and spirit needed a lot of work! I kept saying that I wished I would have found her sooner, but she patiently reminded me that I came when I was ready. I'm always in a rush to fix myself, but healing from Jamie felt very synchronized. It wasn't forced, it wasn't too much, it wasn't lacking. I was suffering from sciatica pains, a rotator cuff injury, as well as stress pain in my back and neck. The bodywork was just amazing. Jamie's knowledge of anatomy and Ayurveda help make sense of why I have pain in those areas, and hopefully how I can avoid that pain in the future. YO1: Where Wellness Goes to Die…read more YO1 is what would happen if The Shining and Nine Perfect Strangers had a baby, then abandoned it in the Catskills without Wi-Fi, housekeeping, or adult supervision. A few days before check-in, I called specifically to ask about the yoga and meditation schedule. I referenced a robust schedule I found on the YO1 website and was told a similar schedule would be available when I arrived. What they neglected to mention was that the entire "schedule" consisted of one yoga class on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. There were also no guided meditations as advertised. Apparently, withholding basic information is part of the mindfulness journey. We also called ahead to confirm that Wi-Fi would be available. It wasn't. Yoga, meditation, Wi-Fi: all promised, none meaningfully provided. At YO1, amenities are less like services and more like affirmations--perhaps if you believe hard enough, they'll manifest. The "hot" tub was lukewarm. The pool was cold. The spa robes were visibly dirty and discolored. The robe and slippers in our room were never refreshed; instead, we received an empty slipper bag, an elegant little metaphor for the entire YO1 experience. We requested towels for the room, but they never arrived. Considering the condition of the robes by the pool, this may have been the closest the resort came to protecting our health. The furniture was peeling apart, the trim was scuffed, and the carpet had stains and crumbs large enough to qualify as their own wellness program. Nothing promotes inner peace quite like wondering whether your robe has already achieved intimacy with a stranger. The entire property was eerily empty. Not peaceful-empty. Not exclusive-retreat-empty. More like "the staff disappeared three winters ago, but the reservation system is still running" empty. At any moment, I expected twin wellness coaches to appear at the end of the hallway and whisper, "Come meditate with us...forever." For the past two weeks, we have repeatedly tried to request a refund directly with the hotel by both phone and email. We have received no response. Apparently, the vow of silence extends beyond the meditation program and into guest relations. YO1 advertises a wellness retreat but delivered one inconveniently timed yoga class, no guided meditation, nonexistent Wi-Fi, a cold pool, a tepid hot tub, dirty robes, missing slippers, undelivered towels, and deteriorating facilities. I did leave feeling transformed; however, I now have trust issues and a renewed appreciation for functioning hotels.
