Unfortunately, my labor/delivery Doula became unavailable and her backup was not around either. Franciska ended up picking me up from my home and taking me to the hospital as I was in active labor and I was alone (Due to unfortunate failures on the other doula's not affiliated with Fran). She stayed with me for a couple hours at the hospital while I was continuing to labor until a back up doula arrived. Her methods to sooth me during labor (without epidural) were very helpful. Franciska then returned a couple of days later on my day of discharge to take me and the baby home. She spent the next 8 weeks supporting us day and night. She set the bar so high that anybody else always fell short. My daughter and I adore Franciska. Her foods and snacks were delicious and it helped me significantly recover postpartum and while I was breast-feeding. She also paid very close attention to my health when my OB's dropped the ball on so many things. I ended up getting preeclampsia postpartum and if it wasn't for Franciska, I might've ended up hospitalized. Truly, owe my life to her! She is absolutely amazing!

I bought my best friend a $500 gift card online for her birthday. When she went to use it, she was told it had expired and was no longer valid, apparently gift cards expire after one year, and she tried to use hers three months past that date. Nowhere on my confirmation was an expiration date mentioned. When I transferred the gift card to her, there was no indication of one there either. And I still don't understand how a gift card even expires, where did my $500 go? I could understand if the business had closed, but this is a spa that's still very much open. There's one lovely person at the front desk who seems to be the only one who actually works there and the only one with any empathy. No manager is ever available, the phone just rings and rings, and I was told they no longer work with the gift card company, so it's "not valid." Can someone explain that logic to me? Where did my $500 go? I checked the website for an FAQ on gift cards, and there's nothing. How is this justifiable? My friend ended up paying for the service herself, and I was horrified to hear she couldn't use the service I'd paid for on her behalf. I've worked in hospitality for over 20 years, and this level of dismissiveness is appalling. On top of all that, she said the facilities were dirty, stained towels, robes, and sheets. Beware of this "wellness spa." Spend your $500 somewhere that actually cares about its guests.
