Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental Meditation

(10 reviews)

I participated in a Transcendental Meditation course through the Mission Valley center years ago,…read morewhere I paid for instruction, received the opening ceremony, and attended group follow-up sessions. However, when I recently reached out for support, I was told there was no record of my instruction or payment in the TM system. This lack of accountability was deeply concerning. A global organization of this size should maintain accurate records of its students and protect them from being lost in the process. Instead, I was told that what I experienced "had nothing to do with TM," despite it taking place at their center. My hope in sharing this review is to encourage greater transparency, proper record-keeping, and accountability within the TM organization so others do not face the same dismissal or confusion.

For the price you pay, you're better off doing a $100 meditation workshop. This organization is…read morehighly money motivated. $1100 to give you "secret" mantra that can be looked up online by age and gender. Very disappointed. Hesitated writing this review for a long time but feel it's important others know. Any organization so focused on money while also claiming to be about dropping beliefs, opening up, sharing love with the world, etc might want to be more transparent and mindful themselves. The meditation is mediocre at best if you've had any experience at all. If you haven't, a couple YouTube videos will provide as much guidance and more. Plus it's free! Their weekly "checks" are NOT a meditation group. They are a constant repeat of the same material. Not worth it.

Where do I begin, Sara is a godsend…read more I booked a few sessions before starting my reiki schooling. Those sessions helped me know this is definitely who I want to work with and helped me prepare when I was struggling. She is very talented and genuine. I'm so grateful to have a teacher that has so much knowledge but who also makes her students feel comfortable. She is natural in how she interacts with us and provides us with the answers needed. I always come back from an immersion feeling like I have what I needed, never wishing I had asked another question. Even if I didn't ask the question, she seems to be aligned with what we needed to hear. She also has a great sense of humor, which is always important to me :) I look forward to continuing this journey!

Sara is incredibly understanding and nurturing. She guided me through each session, ensuring I understood everything that was happening. Her calm demeanor and insightful explanations helped me feel at ease and fully engaged. I truly appreciate the light that this experience has shined on certain areas of my life. It has provided clarity and a sense of peace that I didn't realize I needed. I highly recommend Sara and Reiki of San Diego for anyone looking to explore their energy and well-being, whether in person or remotely.

Bay Club Carmel Valley - Outdoor pool and tennis courts

Bay Club Carmel Valley

Carmel Valley

Bay Club is a great family-friendly place with lots of activities and pools. The environment feels…read moresafe and welcoming for everyone. The club itself is pricey. The food is good. The bathrooms and showers could use some upgrades, but overall it's a solid, enjoyable spot for families.

I really want to like Bay Club because the potential is obvious, but the execution is…read moredisappointing. I used to go to Life Time, and the difference is night and day. It honestly doesn't take much to make a gym great, but Bay Club feels stuck in the past. The men's locker room is gross and smells. There's a persistent musky odor that's hard to stomach, likely coming from old carpet that's clearly been there for years. The men's showers are equally bad, with hair everywhere, inconsistent cleanliness, and low water pressure, which makes the entire experience feel unhygienic and poorly maintained. The men's sauna is especially concerning. There appears to be little to no ventilation, creating a heavy, stagnant environment that can allow dangerous CO buildup. On top of that, the walls and benches in the sauna are extremely outdated, reinforcing the sense that this space hasn't been refreshed or properly maintained in a long time. The products provided (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) are low quality and full of questionable ingredients, which feels completely out of place for a club charging premium prices. The weight room is constantly messy, with plates scattered everywhere and mismatched equipment. It feels chaotic instead of intentional. The outdoor gym is another huge missed opportunity. With the space and climate, it could be incredible, but instead it feels underdeveloped and outdated. Overall, everything just feels old and complacent. There's so much opportunity here, yet it seems like no one is pushing to raise the standard. After experiencing what a well-run gym can be, this falls short. I'll probably be canceling soon unless major improvements are made
